BEING JOMAE-On To the Next One

I hurried up and drove home and I parked the car in the garage. When I walked in it was dark but just before I went upstairs the lights went on.


"Where did you go?", I looked and seen my dad sitting in his chair.


"I went to Tyrone's to talk to him about Shaunie"


"Alright then you should've told me that before you left. This ain't yo moms house so don't think you about to leave anytime of night and not tell me especially with it being a school night. You understand."


"Yes sir"


"Look Jomae I love you and it's a lot going on right now with my business and I don't want anything to happen to you. I'm cool with you going somewhere just tell me and let Me take you until things die down okay?"


"Okay", he got up and gave me a hug and we both went upstairs. If he wouldn't have explained to me I would've got mad and left especially with him bringing my mom into it. I know she's not right but she's still my mom and she just needs help right now, before she started doing drugs she was my best friend. I told her everything and we were real close. I walked to my room and I was snapped out of my thoughts when I seen Darius sleeping in my bed with just some basketball shorts on.


"Darius", I said walking in.


"Hmm", he turned over on his back with his eyes still closed.


"Who is Kiana?"


"My girl why?", his eyes was still closed so I'm guessing he don't know who he talking to.


"Your girl what?"


"My girlfriend I'm sleep right now talk to me in the morning", he rolled back over putting the covers over his head.


I slammed the door walking out my room and I went outside on the patio. I laid down in one of the recliner chairs and I listened to music to calm, my nerves. This is why I didn't want to go out with him he's a liar and I bet he don't even care. Like if you know you with somebody why are you trying to talk to me. I looked up and I seen my dad standing at the door.


"You okay? Why you slamming doors?"


"Nothing. No, because Darius"


"What he do I just went in there and he was sleep. And speaking of sleep why he sleep in yo bed?"


"I don't know when I got here I saw him. But when I went over Tyrone's it was some female there and I asked him why she was there and not Shaunie and he told me but I thought he was lying but then he said that she Darius girl. And when I got here I asked him and he said yeah"


"So what that got to do with you?"


"Before I left me and Darius was talking and he was telling me his feelings and stuff and he asked me out and my dumb self said yeah"


"Baby girl you not stupid. You'll be fine and I'll talk to him"


"No daddy it's fine. I'm gone let him figure it out by his self"


"Okay well I'm going to bed and you try to get you some sleep to"


"Alright night"


He walked back in the house and I just stayed outside. I listened to my music until I got tired and I went back inside and fell asleep watching tv.

"Morning baby. Why you ain't sleep in the room last night?", Darius said walking behind the couch.



"I don't know ask yo girlfriend", I got up and grabbed the cover to take back to the closet and I went upstairs.



"What are you talking about you are my girl"



"Oh yeah, am I the only girl though?"



"What is wrong with you and why you tripping. You was just chilling before you left so what happened?"



"Ask Kiana", I got my robe out my closet and I walked into the bathroom leaving him in the middle of the room just standing there.



I put on my Pandora and got in the shower. When I got out I threw my robe on and I went into my room to see Darius still standing there. I rolled my eyes and walked past him to get to my closet when he grabbed me by my arm pulling me into his chest so we was looking down at me.


"Let me go", I said trying to get out of his grip.


"No, look I'm sorry Jomae i f*cked up. But Kiana is my main and that ain't ever changing so if you want to be with me the you just gotta deal with it"


"I should've left that bullet in your arm and you not having yo cake and eating it to with me. You a fake sorry punk now let me go and get out of my room. If I have to tell you again I'm gonna get my dad in here". He let me go and got out like I said. This boy done really lost his mind on some real stuff. Let me call Tiana and tell her what's going on.



PHONE CALL

Me: "Hey Tiana what you doing?"



Tiana: "Just getting my stuff together and cleaning up a little. What's going on? You sound sad"



Me: "Darius. So tell me why I went over to Tyrone's and some female was there and he told me she was Darius girl so when I asked him he said that's his girlfriend and then this morning he said that's his main and that's never changing and I have to deal with it if I want to be with him"



Tiana: "That boy outta line. Girl do not do that just leave him alone and what was she doing over Tyrone's house if she's Darius'?"



Me: "I don't know, I didn't say anything about that. I'm not in it and whatever they have going on is they business I'm just mad at Darius because he know how I feel"



Tiana: "I'm saying right now I'm starting to wish we never met them"



Me: "That's how I feel. We should've told them to leave after they came over"



Tiana: "Yes but I'm to far in it now but you don't have to stay"



Me: "I know and I'm out, I have to much on my mind. I'm trying to get my life together and get used to living like this and then Shaunie pregnant and I haven't talked to her since I left so I don't have time for Darius and his bull"



Tiana: "I feel you. Can you come get me?"



Me: "Yeah I got you"



Tiana: "Okay I'll see you when you get here"



Me: "Alright"


END OF PHONE CALL



I hung up the phone and finished getting dressed. I did my hair and walked downstairs.


"You gone give me a ride?", Darius asked me when he seen me downstairs.



"No you have a car and I'm picking up Tiana", I grabbed an apple out the refrigerator and I left. I guess Jonah don't work here no more since he wasn't in there and he fought Darius. Oh well I was in the car on the way to Tiana's thinking about what's gone happen today when I remembered we suspended. I'm already out I guess we can go do something.



I pulled up to Tiana's aunts apartment and I seen her aunt on the balcony.


"Hey Aunt Julie", I said giving her a hug when I saw her because she stepped out the front door after she got done smoking.



"Hey niece. What you and Tiana have planned for today?"


"Nothing yet I'm just chilling getting my mind off of some things going on"


"Yeah I understand well I'm about to go to the grocery store. Tiana in here room you can just go in"


"Alright"



When I walked in the apartment it was nasty. It was juice spills all over the floor, cigarettes all on the coffee table, empty 40 bottles, it smelt like nothing but doddiee and dro. I went into Tiana's room and she was just laying down on the bed but her room was spotless and it smelt good.


"Hey girl what you doing?", I said coming in laying in the bed on the other side of her.


"Chilling I'm super hungry"


"Aunt Julie said she was going to the store"


"Girl she getting stuff to make the white boy. I have to pay rent, pay for my own food, and everything. She giving me a month to get my stuff together but after that I have to pay rent. Now how am I going to do that without a job?"


"Tell King to help you out"


"He's not going to. I haven't even talked to him since I told him I was pregnant"


"Then talk to him. It's not about either one of y'all it's about my niece or nephew. He need to take care of you since his baby is in you and after you have the baby if he still feel the same way then you can leave him alone and fend for yourself because I do not like the way you living right now"


"I don't either but I don't have anybody else to go to and I love my auntie she crazy and I know she gone take care of me she just getting me ready for the real world"


"Yeah you right about that but she not living healthy for yo baby. Yo baby is second hand smoking right now. Everything that you smell is going to yo baby, you don't need to be smelling that with the baby"


"Okay Doctor Jomae I'm sorry", she said joking.


"Why everybody keep on saying that?"


"Saying what calling you a doctor?"


"Yea"


"Because you act like it. You need to go to school for that for real. But can we go eat please I haven't eaten nothing since like 5 o'clock yesterday after yo dad fed us"


"Yeah come on. Why haven't you eaten anything?", I said getting up from the bed with her behind me.


"Because there's nothing to eat and I've just been sleep"



We got in the car and I drove to IHOP since it's still breakfast. We got out the car and it was this super fine waiter looked around our age. He was tall, light skin, had dreads, a sexy smile, and hazel eyes.



"Hello my name is Killion and I'll be your waiter today. Can I start you off with something to drink?", he asked seating us at our table.



"Umm just 2 orange juices please", Tiana said.



"Alright coming up"



"Wait that's just for me. Jomae what you want", we both laughed at her and I told him I wanted a strawberry lemonade.



"Coming right up", he smiled and winked at me then walked off to get our drinks.



"Ooh I saw that", Tiana said making me blush a little.



"Saw what?", I said still smiling hard showing my dimples.



"Don't play me. I just seen him wink at you and he smiling extra hard and he making you blush. Girl you betta get that he got a job and he fine"


"You crazy"


"Here you go. Are you ready to order?", he said coming back putting our drinks in front of us.



"Oh yes umm can I have 3 blueberry pancakes with whipped cream on top. Bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage, and a hashbrown with fresh fruit on the side. And my friend Jomae will have your number, with scrambled eggs, bacon, and a hashbrown"



"Tiana!!", I screamed at her making Killion laugh.



"Coming right up", he laughed and walked off with our order.



"What? You needs to get with that and I think he got to our school"



"I don't know but now that you said that he sort of do look familiar. I think I've seen him somewhere"



"How do you forget about seeing that face?"



"I don't know but he is fine though"


Just when I said that I seen Kiana and Darius come in. I rolled my eyes and kept talking to Tiana.


"Isn't that Darius right there?"



"Yeah", I didn't even bother turning back around.



"Who is that he with?"



"Kiana his girlfriend. I don't even care about that so let's change the subject"


As soon as I said that Killion came back with our food.


"I have your blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, sausage, and fresh fruit", he said giving Tiana her food. "And I have your bacon, eggs, and hashbrown, and my number", I looked up and I saw he had a paper in his hands with his number on it. "Call me for real, I wanna spend time with you"


"What time you get off work?"


"I'm about to get off right now. I work nights until the morning and y'all are my last costumers"



"Okay well punch out and come have breakfast with us. Tiana have enough food for all of us to eat"



"Uh don't do me I'm eating for two okay", we both started laughing at her awe man this is gone be a long funny 9 months.



"When y'all finish eating you can follow me to my place and we can hang out for a little while"



"Okay. Wait you don't have school?"



"Naw I graduated early. I don't leave for college until next school year"



"Wow hold old are you?"



"I'm 16"



"Wow your 16 about to go to college?"



"Yeah we can talk a little more after I get off"



"Well since we're your last costumers how about we wrap this up now..."



"Tiana", I was interrupted and when I turned around to see who was calling her it I saw King.



"What?"



"Why haven't you been returning my calls?", he said coming up to the table with me and Tiana. I was wondering how he knew we were here because we didn't tell him and then I looked at Darius. He was feeding Kiana her breakfast so I just rolled my eyes and shook my head turning back around.



"Baby come on. You need to live with me, my mom loves you my family loves you. And I love you, you carrying my first seed, I want to make sure you have everything you need. I'm not going anywhere we in each other's lives forever and I don't want to have a co-parent relationship. I need you to come home with me baby please?", that almost brought tears to my eyes and the next thing I know the whole restaurant was clapping and applauding.



"Take me home", he lifted her up and carried her out the restaurant bridal style. They are to cute together, she was over here tripping for nothing.



"So you ready to go?", Killion said coming back to the table.



"Yeah let's go", I got in the car and followed him to his house. We drove about 5 minutes out of town and we pulled up to this big house. It was sort of like mini modern mansion. I drove to the front of the house and I waited for him to come open the front door. When he opened the door it was so beautiful, it was nice, big, and simple but fancy and comfortable.



"Wow nice place"



"Thanks umm I'm going to go hop in the shower you can watch tv until I get out"



"Alright"



I sat on the couch and watched House of Payne until he got out the shower. I was looking around and then he came down the stairs in just a towel showing off his tattoos, and his 8-pack. The water was still glistening off his body and man he was just looking to sexy, somebody might be loosing something tonight and I don't mean they keys.
