THE train was a lot less crowded than the actual station was; the amount of people bustling about and parents crying about their children having to go away was an annoyance to Nezumi. He was in the last empty carriage by himself, trying to avoid everyone and avoid making friends; everyone seemed so loud here. Many (almost too many) were abrasive, the arrogance of them almost made Nezumi sick to his stomach - they were so ungrateful about what they had and where they were going.

He gazed out the window at the brick wall, allowing his dark hair to fall in front of his eyes. He felt pretentious - acting as if he was above all of the noise and ruckus, but honestly - who was he actually talking to or making noise with? The commotion outside seemed to begin to quiet down as people found their friends and the other first years found someone else to sit with.

The door opened suddenly, and a girl - possibly? Their hair fell over their shoulders but they were flat chested and they had masculine and feminine features - strode in, holding a rather small suitcase for all of her possessions for the year.

"There's no where else to go, and everyone here seems to much of an asshole to be friends with. Don't think I want to be friends with you, either. You're just the most silent in this whole fucking station," they slipped the profanity into their speech so easily, it almost made Nezumi jump.

He allowed them to sit down - they sat opposite them and glared at the wall. They seemed unhappy and distressed to be going to Hogwarts, as if it was something that they were being forced to do.

Nezumi had thought about that; they were sent a letter informing them that they were enrolled in the school, but no one was actually given the choice to decline to receive an education there, or apply for a different school. If you refused they just persisted that you went; which surely wasn't a way to encourage people to attend? The school basically bullied people into joining and attending.

Nezumi hadn't actually been to a proper school before, with actual students and teachers. His parents had taught them until that had happened, and from there on, he relied on getting his knowledge from books and himself.

The person in front of him looked not really stupid but not exactly... wizard smart. They looked muggle born, but possibly it was just the demeanour of them and how they acted around Nezumi; they seemed closed off and negative. They didn't act as a normal person would when they were going to a wizardry school.

Nezumi opened his mouth to speak to them and to make conversation, but he was interrupted by the opening of the door, and two people stumbling in the carriage with them.

The girl spoke for them both. She seemed intelligent as she spoke, and she spoke with confidence but she didn't look at either of Nezumi or the other person as she did.

"May we sit with you? There are no other available carriages that are available for us to sit in." She spoke with an air of seriousness, but her words seemed like she had rehearsed them before actually speaking to them.

Nezumi nodded. The other person began to seem more hostile as they sat down on the seats with them, and Nezumi finally took in their appearances. The boy seemed slightly androgynous, his hair falling just below his chin - the shade of his hair was a brown one, highlighting his eyes that were shades lighter.

Nezumi thought he was attractive, the combination of his features worked together and, well - who was he kidding? He was just cute.

The girl introduced herself as Safu, and the boy as Shion.

"As in the flower?" Nezumi asked, remembering a book he had read about wild flowers - he was sure that it had been mentioned. It was a beautiful flower, just as Shion was.

"Yeah. My mum is obsessed with them," he said - his voice was cute and light.

Nezumi turned to the other person in the carriage with them and asked, "So what's your name?"

"Inukashi." They didn't turn as they spoke to Nezumi, still staring out the window.

"Inukashi?" Nezumi scoffed at them, the name seeming basically ridiculous. It gave no hints to their gender at all which was probably why they didn't say an actual name - perhaps they wanted to remain ambiguous about it?

"Do you have a problem with my name?" They asked angrily, standing up and glaring at Nezumi.

Nezumi smirked in return to them, and he just shook his head at Inukashi. He turned back to Shion who was sat beside him, wanting to continue their previous conversation. Inukashi had gotten angry from a simple comment, and Nezumi wanted to distract himself before he got lost in his empathy, wondering what had made Inukashi so hostile towards him.

"So, about your mother's flowers - did she name you Shion as she thought you were as beautiful as the flower? Because I think that you are." Nezumi slipped the words to Shion easily.
