Chapter Ten

~ Dawn's POV ~

I watched as Seth jogged down the road towards his house, mom tapped me on the shoulder jumping me.

“Well he’s cute.” She said bluntly.

i rolled my eyes, I guess he was, but I wasn’t gonna tell her that ‘cause then she’d tell Seth. yes, she has done that before, last year with Troy. With my enhanced hearing i hear a screech from the outskirts of town a mile away. I squirm uncomfortably, but I don’t know why. So I ignore my gut that’s telling me to run.

Odd. I think.

My phone beeps, a text from Seth.

Seth: Get yourself and your mom out of your house now!

Me: Why

Seth: NOW

“hey mom i wanna show you something in town!” I yell.

“Lets go mum!” I say panicking because Seth hadn’t said why.

“Hun, after dinner.” She says.

“No now!” I guess she heard the fear in my voice because she rushed in. She grabbed my wrist and opened her mouth,

“No mom! Just come on!” I sobbed and dragged her through the door.

~ ???'s POV ~

i watched angrily as Dawn, and her mother darted out the door and into a car parked in the driveway.

“Boss?” A timid voice said from behind me.

“What?” I spun, seething.

Jimmy sunk back in terror,

“I think that Luna girl lives just down the street.” I nodded stiffly.

Why’d they know to get out?

“Seth…” I hissed.

“come on boys I’ve got someone before Luna!” yelled over everyone’s nervous chattering.

~ Seth's POV ~

I heard them before I saw them walk up my steps and burst into my house yelling,

“Seth?”

“Dawn in here!” I said.

She rushed in sobbing and her mom had a very confused face. She ran to me and choked out

“what is it?”

“Skylar’s pack.” I spat.

She stood back startled, ‘What?"

“i guess he has more than one pack.” I said bitterly.

Luckily her mom had left the room in search of a bathroom so she heard none of the conversation. A loud thud against the back door said that they were here, whoever “they” were.

"Skylar, if that’s even your name, leave us alone!" I hollered down the hall.

~ ???'s POV ~

Jack, Jimmy, and Jace paced restlessly behind me,

“are you going in?” Jack snarled.

i whipped around teeth bared,

“be quiet jack!”

Seth called through the door, suddenly my mind cleared, and i was Skylar again.

“Quinn?” Jack snarled, the least fearful of me.

“I’m not Quinn, I’m Skylar. And no.”

“What?” He asked argrily.

“We are not going in.” i stated calmly.

“Wimp! I’m going in. Jim? Jace?” He snarled pushing roughly past me.

they both gave me a look as they stalked past me.

“Seth! Watch out!” I yelled running after them.

I rounded the corner into an all too familiar living room just as hell broke loose.
