No One's POV
It's around 6:35pm, the sun has gone down and Ian is still in the library, searching about The Master.
It has been far too quiet for too long for him too feel anything close to calm.
He was by the shelves searching for the one book that he was sure that has the answers he's been looking for, but a squeak was heard making him stop his search and look around, his heartbeat picked up.
Sticking his head to the side as he licks his lips and looks ahead for anyone in sight, his heart didn't settle knowing there was no one there. "Who's there?" After a moment of silence, he shakes his head ignoring the fear in his heart.
He takes a few steps to a glass-enclosed bookcase and sees his reflection before sighing softly.
With that in mind he turns away and let out a yelp, startled by Lauren standing there. Ian looks back at his reflection and sees nothing but himself until Lauren made herself visible.
Ian's chest expands with a very needed air, "A vampire casts no reflection but a werewolf does. Never get's old, just impressive." His heart was still beating heavily and Lauren can hear it making her chuckle as she jokingly says.
"Don't worry. I'm not here to eat." She stuffs her hands in her black jean pocket with a smirk.
"I know." Ian grins at her playfully, running his fingers through his jet black messy hair.
Lauren shakes her head and shrugs, "Not for a long while." She presses, not wanting Ian to see her differently.
Waving her off, he looks at her curiously, "Is that why you're here? To see her?" Ian grins at her, teasing.
Lauren let's out a heavy breath and looks down, "It's too hard for me to be around her." She mumbles out sadly as her heart shivered with sadness.
Ian's playful grin turns to a frown one, he looks at her with soft eyes as he whispers, "A Hybrid in love with a Slayer..." The moment those words left Ian's lips, his eyes widen when he saw Lauren's shift. "Oh my, a Hybrid in love with a slayer... She-She's your mate..." When Lauren's swallows thickly and avoids his wide eyes, he got the answer he needs, "Oh wow... It's, um-rather poetic in a, maudlin sort of way." He says with a soft chuckle as he tilts his head. When he looks at Lauren's uncomfortable state, he changes the subjects. "What can I, uh... What can I do for you?"
Lauren coughs awkwardly, shifting slightly, it was different for her but now that Ian is the Slayers Watcher, she didn't know how to act. "I-um I don't want her to know. Not now at least. I need to-to sort myself out. My friends, they came to town to...um help me with things." She says avoiding looking at Ian who flashed a knowing grin at her. Lauren awkwardly stood in silence before she started shaking her head a little and looks up at him, "Anyway, I'm here to tell you about the Master. I know you've been researching on him." When Ian's eyes lit in pure relief and joy, she gave him that corner smile that can go unnoticed.
"Uh, no worries." He nods, keeping her secret to not tell anyone and especially the Slayer about the information he now knows, even if it is going to be hard to do so. "And-and yes, the vampire king. I've tried to learn as much as I can about him for the day that Camila must face him." Ian says as he puts some of the books that didn't help him back in the shelves.
Lauren frowns, "Something's already in motion, something big, but I don't know what." When Ian nods, still stacking some books she continues, "You've read all the Slayer lore there is, right?"
Ian nods again, licking his lips, "I-I've studied all the extant volumes, of course. But the uh, most salient books of Slayer prophecy have been lost. The Tiberius Manifesto, the Pergamum Codex..." Lauren cuts him off when her head snapped towards him.
