Elena felt her body being lifted, not the coffin, her body. She could have easily opened her eyes to find out who it was but the fact that she did not recognize the smell of whoever had picked her up, she was too scared to find out. She wasn't scared like she was being kidnapped but scared that she have been taking to protect her from a danger that her loved one were fighting off. She could tell that whoever had picked her up was human, the fact that they lacked supernatural strength was a giveaway. Slowly opened her eyes to see a beautiful woman.
She was probably only a few years older than Elena but looked so much more grown up. Her eyes were a beautiful brown colour, matching the colour of her long brown hair. Her lips were puckered yet natural, making Elena instantly jealous of her beauty. She looked at her dark skin that was shining in the light- yet another feature for Elena to be jealous of. It was only then that Elena realized that the woman carrying her was running. Running for her life. Elena tried to turn her eyes to see what she was running from but she could see no more than she could she if she was awake. She began to panic as the women began swerving in and out of trees as she had entered the woods, looking lost yet still running straight. As she looked up at the woman to search for an expression on her face that could tell Elena what was going on, She noticed 3 distinct marks through her skin. They looked like healed wounds of a werewolf scratch. This made Elena question the reality that her body was in, without being given any answers. Only then did she begin to remember her friends. She had no idea where she was and had no idea where her friends could be. Without any knowledge of what year it could be Elena wondered how old Bonnie would be now and how much longer she had been in her slumber. It wad hard to keep track of time whilst dreaming and doing nothing. Minuites would feel like hours. Abruptly the woman stopped and placed Elena on the cold and wet grass- 'perfect' Elena thought to herself. The mystery woman looked around to check if her chasers were gone then crouched down next to Elena. She looked like she needed to tell Elena something but something else was stopping her. Was it bad news? What had happened? What was she running from?
"I'm so sorry, Elena." The woman whispered gently in her ear.
Panic set in Elena instantly. Though unable to move she stiffened.
"None of us knew this would happen. Deaton warned us but he didn't warn us of everything. He didn't warn us about you." The woman spoke nice enough but the emphasis on the word 'you' made Elena think she may have caused whatever was happening.
"Your gonna feel a lot of pain soon Elena," the woman spoke more harshly now but Elena barely noticed, caught up in her own theories of what might be happening. "It'll only hurt for a few seconds and the pain should be gone by the time you wake up."
'Wake up?!?!' Elena was panicking inside her own head. Had whatever was chasing them killed Bonnie? More theories chased each other inside Elena's head until Elena felt a funny feeling. She started to scream, not because it hurt but because she was scared of what would happen when she awoke. Half a second later and Elena's pain came. Her scream was silent because she screamed so much in those 3 seconds and because she soon ran out of air to scream.
The pain was gone. Elena stopped screaming and gasped so suddenly the woman knelt beside her jumped backwards. Elena looked around to see around her and moved her body. She realized she was finally awake and momentarily felt happy but the fear crept in again and stared at the woman, hoping for some instructions of what she should do.
"Hello Elena," the woman spoke in a normal voice, just like you would speak to an old acquaintance. It was a nice feeling for someone to talk to her that actually had a conscious, rather than her controlling the minds of all. "I'm Braeden." She spoke again so nice as if nothing that had happened had ever happened. Then a loud explosion sounded somewhere close to where they were. They both screamed. Both were flew backwards. And they were both knocked unconscious.
