~*~2 Years Later~*~

"What's that you're reading?" A man with blue skin and pointy teeth looks towards Itachi with curiosity.

"Nothing important, should we head out now?" He puts his book down and stands up.

"I'm ready when you are." Itachi walks over to grab a long black robe with a red cloud print on it, then reaches for his wide-brim straw hat that was sitting on a table. He puts them on and heads for the door.

"Let's go."

"Hold on a sec..." Itachi turns to see his blue companion examining the book.

"What kind of book is this? It doesn't even have a title."

"It's not a book...it's a journal. And it isn't mine so don't ask, can we just go?"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm right behind ya."

~*~*~*~*~(Name)~*~*~*~*~

You've been lying low since the village massacre. Very low. You changed you hair style, your clothes, and you were extra careful of the shadows. Instead of the normal, more athletic attire you wore due to always being on the move, you changed to a dress. Nothing fancy, just a simple (favorite color) dress.

You worked every now and then for extra cash so you wouldn't have to steal. Though you still traveled, it was much easier when you had money so you weren't constantly walking.

You still carried regrets on your back, they were heavy, and what had taken over you that night still remains a mystery. Even so, you've kept moving forward and things are looking up, it's been a long time since you've taken a life. The new addition to your transformation hasn't been used much. The taste of venom is odd to you.

"Alright, seems the rush hour is finally over. Thanks for helping out again (Name)." A young girl with short hair says as she wipes down a table.

"Yeah, a family business is hard to run, especially if you don't have a big family. It's really nice of you to be helping us out until my brother gets back from vacation." The man behind the counter said with a smile. His wife peaked out from behind him with a nod.

"And you know what? Even when he does come back, if you still need the money you can come down here anytime you want." You beamed at the happy family in front of you but secretly wished you had what they did.

"Thanks you guys, I really appreciate it. Well I'm off, I'll come back tomorrow." The family waved back to you as you made your way out of the small cafe.

You were headed back to your motel room. It's not the most luxurious place, it's cheap and that was good enough for you. The town you were currently staying in was peaceful, you're still not looking for a home. You wouldn't want to live in a bad place, but if you moved too a nice place like where you are now, chances are it'd end badly. You planned on leaving soon.

You take in the calm atmosphere as you walk down the road. Suddenly a wave of uneasiness washed over you. The source was unknown, you observe your surroundings. It was then you realized the intense amount of people that surrounded you. Some going in your direction and some passing you by. You weren't alone in this town but at the same time you were.

As you looked at the faces moving in your direction, two in particular stood out in the distance, perhaps because you couldn't really see the faces clearly and you could've sworn one of them was blue. It wasn't frightening to you as long as it wasn't the shadow man.

You'd been staring for a while when finally the once large gap between the three of you began to close. At last you'd get a better look at the intriguing pair. The collar of the one mans robe covered the bottom half of his face, and a hat was covering his hair, making only his black orbs visible. His companion, wearing the same robe followed him. Though he looked more odd than the other man, carrying a strange sword and appearing to have gills. Something about the eyes of the man in front of him gave off deja vu.

In that quick moment you met eyes with him, but neither of you averted your gaze. The man's eyes widened a little when looking at you, you stared back in wonder at the mysterious being.

Her face is right, the hair and clothes are different but, I know that face anywhere.

Thought it felt as if time stood still, Itachi was still in a crowd of moving people. He inched closer and closer until he brushed shoulders with the girl and couldn't look at her face anymore.

Though the town was in motion and the strange man was mostly likely lost in a sea of people by now, you stopped and looked in the direction the man was walking. Watching his figure grow distant. The name Itachi suddenly invaded your mind. It was an empty word at first, due to it being such a long time since you thought of that name, you forgot it's significance.

Itachi...why now of all times do I think of that name?

You then shrug it off and move on.

The Uchiha takes another glance at the woman as she walks away. He stands there feeling a bit nostalgic.

"Hey what are you stopping for? We don't have all day." Itachi let's out a sigh.

"...It's nothing, let's keep going."

Then again it's been over two years, it's probably not her.

The two strangers drift apart without knowing the truth.

~*~*~*~(Name)~*~*~*~

Shortly after your encounter with the strange man you make it back to you room with thoughts of Itachi still in your mind.

"What if that was him...?"

~*~*~*~Itachi~*~*~*~

"But what if it was her...?" He mumbled.

"What was that?" The blue man asked.

"Nothing."

"You're acting weird."

The sun was disappearing into a dark sky. Your stomach growled in anger, demanding to be satisfied. Usually you'd ignore its demands but now that you've been working instead of stealing, you felt like you deserved a treat. You grabbed your bag and went out the door.

Itachi observed the town as he walked around. He and his blue friend had headed out to collect information. Because it was getting late, Itachi allowed his companion to head home without him, but he wasn't done yet. He began to pass by a little cafe with an open door and a big sign on it saying 'Welcome'.

"I really like (Name). She's nice and a good worker, why can't we just make her job permanent." The young girl's father replied. Itachi came to a halt.

"And what will you're uncle do when he gets back, Himiko? (Name) also said she wouldn't be living here for long. She's like a modern nomad."

"Yeah...I wonder why that is."

"Beats me." The two went into deep thought for awhile when they finally noticed Itachi standing outside.

"Can I help you with anything sir?"

"I would like to order..." He said hesitantly. He was led inside and took off his hat revealing his jet black hair. Himiko stared in awe, but her attention was quickly pulled back to the door. She grew even more excited.

"(Name)!" Itachi's ears perked up after hearing the familiar name and his eyes scanned the woman at the door. His heart stopped, his eyes widened.

This must be her...
