~*~*~*~Itachi~*~*~*~

He brought the woman back to the Akatsuki base, located pretty much in the middle of nowhere. On the way there he had a serious conversation with her about the organization he was a part of and that she couldn't tell anyone about it. Immediately after saying such things he cursed under his breath due to his lack of understanding on how he so easily was able to tell a stranger such classified things. The way she saw it, was that she had already showed him her biggest secret, he's kept it to himself for so long that she owed it to him to keep his secret in return.

"But, is it really safe for me to be here?" She asked.

"Should be. My partners place isn't too far from here but, I doubt he'd have any reason to show up."

"I see..." She looked around to take in her surroundings. Planning ahead for an escape route in case worse comes to worse.

"So I'm guessing you would want this back. If you even remember it that is." You stopped scanning the room to see familiar looking bag in front of you.

"You kept this with you, all this time?" She looked at Itachi surprised. Itachi stayed silent as the girl curiously looked through the bag. He didn't want to say that he kept it because he became obsessed with her. As much as he tries to deny it, that is the truth. Suddenly the (blond/brunette/other) haired woman's look of curiosity turned into confusion.

"Everything is in here except..." Itachi already knew what she was about to say, he located the journal and handed it to her with a look of guilt.

"As you can probably guess, I have read it. I couldn't help myself, and I didn't think we'd ever run into each other again. I'm sorry."

"It's okay, I understand..." Though she said those words, her look of embarrassment and disappointment was clear. This left Itachi very dissatisfied, but what could he do?

It was silent as the girl flipped through the pages of her life. Itachi watched her.

"So...you know everything, huh." It was more of a statement than a question. Itachi nodded in response.

"How could you be okay with me being here if you know all the things I've done?"

"I was intrigued by you, that night when you transformed. Honestly I thought I was going to die, either by your hands or my own excitement. Also, about that night..." The Uchiha male suddenly bowed to woman.

"I'm sorry (Name). What I attempted to do to you back then was unacceptable." She lifted his gaze to meet her (e/c) colored eyes.

"There's no need for that. I'm the one that started the game when we first met, and we took that pretty far. I should've expected those desires to be unleashed that night. We were alone in a hotel room, and you are a man after all."

"Still, if I didn't drive you out, Kohona could've been your home." (Name) smiled at him sadly.

"I've given up on finding a home for some time now. It's probably better that I didn't stay long anyway, it would've just caused trouble."

"Because you're being followed? We could've helped you (Name), you would've suffered less."

~*~*~*~(Name)~*~*~*~

The way he spoke as if he actually cared that a monster like you was suffering made you begin to laugh, and finally cry. You tried to hide it but, it was no use. Itachi stared at you crying like a little girl. He was unsure of what to do. Finally he wrapped his arms around you, burying your face in his cloud printed robes.

"Why do you do this to me Itachi?" You spoke as the tears continued to flow.

"I hardly know you, and yet I get so emotional around you. It's been so long since I've cried."

"I feel strange when I'm around you too. And even more strange when you aren't around. As soon as I was about to get over my obsession, I run into you and now it's even stronger." You look up at him confused.

"Obsession?" You could've swore you saw his face turn a light shade of pink, but the room was too dark to tell.

"M-maybe that's not the right word to use..." You begin to laugh at his cute awkwardness, and he began to laugh at himself. The conversation started to lighten up as you spoke about your first encounter and how you compared it to prostitution in your journal. Itachi spoke about his struggle to find you after he was done with his mission.

"About that, how is Shisui doing now a days? I definitely remember him, he was so kind and funny. I'd like to see him again." Itachi's tone became saddened.

"Yeah, I would too. He's...not here anymore." He wasn't sure of any other way to put it at the moment.

"I'm so sorry..." The conversation went back to being serious. Itachi spoke of the weight he carried on his shoulders regarding his brother and the village. He also confessed to killing his clan and the way his good friend and cousin, Shisui died for them. The story almost brought you back to tears.

"Anyway, enough about me. I now have a question for you, (Name)."

"Yes?"

"Were the stories of the woman who killed a store owner and seven police officers about you?" You averted Itachi's gaze and looked to the ground.

"Yes..."

"And the village?"

"That too...The first one was my fault, but the second one, I was set up. I really didn't want to kill them."

"Who set you up?"

"The..." You had been trying so hard to avoid him that you couldn't even bring yourself to say the name.

"Shadow m-?" Instinctively you cover Itachi's mouth with your hand.

"S-sorry."

"It's fine. But you talked about him so casually in your journal, so..."

"A few days after I left your village, he showed up again and spoke to me."

"Spoke to you?" You nodded and took another quick scan of the room to confirm he wasn't there. You told him of how the shadow man appeared to you as an old woman and gave you food after you passed out from exhaustion.

"He made it look like I had killed the old woman I thought he was. The village people were going to kill me for a crime I didn't commit."

"Ah, so it was self defense."

"No...It was murder. I had paralyzed them all, I had the chance to walk away...But I killed them, all of them." Itachi was silent so you continued.

"Before the shadow man left me to deal with the village people, he told me he put something in the food I ate, I remember my shoulder was burning. I obtained a new ability and used it on everyone...I couldn't control myself."

"What kind of ability?" You flashed your venomous fangs to Itachi.

"Just like a monster...That must be what you're thinking. That's why I had to leave after showing you that side of myself, plus I figured you'd want nothing to do with me." You said with a sigh.

"Actually, I found your other form to be fascinating. I wouldn't mind seeing it again, it was beautiful." You were taken back by his words.

"You say that but, the more abilities I get, the more monstrous I become."

"I know you feel that way but, you're still (Name) no matter what." He put his hand on yours and you stared at him in awe.

"You're a stranger, how come we're able to talk like this? And you've been so kind to me..."

"I've read your journal, more than once. I know a lot about you now. Probably enough for you to stop calling me a stranger."

'He's right...so does that mean I can call him my friend?'
