Paul----->
(Ash's pov)
On the way back to Sam's place he told me everything. It was crazy, but I just saw it with my own eyes. I was a quileute wolf and I was now apart of Sam's pack and going to protect the land/tribe from the cold ones, aka vampires or leaches, and also there's a thing called imprinting. Sam isn't sure I will be able to because I am the first female wolf ever. He thinks I might not be able to imprint, which is actually really sad because Sam explained imprinting to me. It sounds wonderful. A person who you do anything and everything for. He says there's no stronger love than that with an imprint. I really hope I can imprint. "So.... any questions?" Sam finally asked after giving me a few minutes to wrap my head around everything he had just said.
"Well... What happens if my imprint is actually apart of your pack... that is if I can imprint."
"If you can't imprint then you can still be imprint on I'm sure. As for the whole imprint in the pack thing..." Sam sighed. "We have one major rule of the pack, Ash, never harm another's imprint. If you do imprint on someone in the pack then... well..." He sighed and looked at me. "Jake and I sure will be pissed, but we can't really do anything. You can't choose who to imprint on, so Jake and I will just have to accept it. Better someone in the pack than some one else. I mean at least with them in the pack there is secrets. I mean I wanted to wait until Emily loved me before telling her. For you, he already knows. Plus I know the guys and I'm their alpha. Their thoughts aren't kept secret and I could make them do extra patrols if they hurt you or go against my big brother protection ideas." I rolled my eyes.
"Great." I said sarcastically, causing Sam to laugh. "Anyways... whose in the pack anyways?" I asked.
"Well, you have Jake's two best friends Quil and Embry, then my two best friends Jared and Paul. Embry.... he's a bit more complicated." Sam told me, causing me to look over at him.
"How?"
"Well, none of us thought he had the bloodline to phase, but then he phased. We always thought his mother moved here pregnant with him by someone from her tribe, but we found out she moved back here pregnant with with him by someone in our tribe. We narrowed it down to him being either my father's son, Jake and your dad's son, or Quil dad's son." I frowned.
"Poor guy. Must make him feel like an outcast with you guys."
"Jake and Quil help him a lot." I nod in understanding and looked up at Sam.
"So, what about the others?"
"Well Jared's my best friend. He's the jokester in the pack, while Embry is the quiet one. Jake, he should have been the alpha, but he didn't want it. He's second in command now, while Jared is third. Quil is also kind the jokester, but he's really the big softy of the group." I smiled at the thought. "Friendship and loyalty means a lot to him. Then there's Paul." I frowned as Sam sighed as if disappointed.
"He's your friend right?"
"Yeah, best friend like Jared, but he's a hothead. He's consistently loosing his temper and he's always trying way to hard to be like me."
"Well, he probably looks up to you and just wants to be like you. Plus his temper, well everyone looses their cool."
"Ash, he looses his cool at the slightest thing. He's a bit dangerous to be around at times. If you were to imprint on anyone in the pack I'd like for you to with Jared. I mean Quil already imprinted on Emily's niece, and Jake and I can't be imprinted on by you, plus I already imprinted. I'm also sure that Embry can't be imprinted on by you, so that leaves Jared or Paul. Like I said, Paul can be dangerous, even if he doesn't mean to be, and Jared.... He's a great guy to have." I shrugged.
"Well, Sam it's not up to us. If Paul's my imprint then... well you gotta deal." Sam sighed and nod.
"I know, but if he is... then be careful. I don't want you getting hurt." Sam looked away and sighed. "I lost my temper and injured Emily. I don't want Paul doing that either. That's why we try really hard for him to control his temper. So..." He looked at me. "Be careful." I nod. He faced forward and I followed his example. "Here we are." The house wasn't that big, but it looked really cozy and homey. "We have an extra bedroom, so you can stay there." I smiled.
"Thanks, Sammy." I said to him as I went to kiss his cheek, but he's too tall. Sam laughed and kissed my cheek instead.
"Sorry, shorty." I shot him a glare, but he simply just laughed and lead me inside. Inside I saw Jake and four other shirtless guys eating platefuls and a woman in the kitchen. I knew exactly who she was as she turned to us. It was Emily. I met her once or twice and she's always been really nice.
"Oh, hey, Ash, Jared and Paul told us you'd be joining us." Emily said as she hugged me.
"Hey, Em." I smiled. Emily pulled away and smiled back at me.
"Are you hungry?" I shook my head.
"No thanks, I'm fine." She smiled.
"I like her, she has manners." Emily said as she gave a pointed look at the guys, but they were too busy stuffing their faces to even hear her. I bit my lip to keep from laughing as Sam rolled his eyes.
"They never hear anything when they're eating." He told me and I giggled.
"Yeah, it's funny now." Emily mumbled. "Give it a few days, it's gets really annoying and tiresome." Sam shook his head and looked at the five guys.
"Hey, guys!" Sam yelled, causing them all to practically jump out of their seats. "I swear a bomb could explode outside and none of you would even notice." He mumbled. Jake, who had just swallowed his food, saw me and practically ran over to me.
"Ash!" Jake smiled and pulled me into a hug. I laughed and hugged him back. "I haven't seen you in forever." He said as I smiled. He still was the same Jake I knew. Sweet, loving, and hugable.
"This is Jake's and my sister, Ash. I'm sure Jared and Paul already told you guys that she phased and now is apart of our pack." Sam said to the other guys. Jake pulled out of the hug and wrapped a protective arm around me.
"Right, that's Quil and Embry and that's Jared and Paul." Jake told me as he pointed to each of them. Quil gave me a cute smile before going back to his food. Embry eye's lifted up and looked at me, before he gave a quick smile, his eyes fell back down, and went back to his food. Jared gave me a lopsided grin.
"Cool, a girl in the pack. Does that mean we get so see her nak-" Before he could finish, Sam hit him hard on the back of the head. "Ow! Sam, I was only kidding." Jared whined and rubbed his head. I giggled and shook my head at the two of them. When Paul looked at me, my laughter quickly went away and I was frozen in my spot.
Everything seemed to fade out and the only thing that mattered was Paul. Gravity was no longer holding me to earth, Paul was. It was like nothing I have ever felt before. He was just... he was perfect. All I wanted to do was protect him and do everything I could to make him happy.
The trance we were in broke when I heard Jake's voice. "You got to be fucken kidding me." Jake growled as he let go of me. I looked over and he was shaking with rage.
"No!" Emily yelled at Jake. "I am not having you phase in the house again. I have just fixed this place. If you're going to phase then take it outside!" Emily ordered and without another word Jake stormed out, slamming the door behind. I looked over at Sam, who I could tell was trying not to get mad, like we had talked about just earlier. I may have talked about having Paul as an imprint, but I never actually planned for this to happen.
"Yeah.... He's not a big fan of Paul." Jared said, breaking up the silence and getting many glares from the pack members.
