Catarina's POV:

Hello! My name is Cat Valentine. I love cereal and chipmunks. I wish I had chipmunk cheeks because then I could store all my cereal in it! Smart, right? But then I might choke on the dry cereal. The last time I choked on something, my nonna threatened to kick me out the house. She said "Now, Cat, I can't have a dead body in my house. If you're choking, I'm going to need you to step outside." Hehe, my nonna is funny. Although that time she was serious.

Anyway, I have a baby sister named Kalina Valentine. She's only 3 years old. Sometimes she likes to pull my hair and it really hurts. Her hair is brown and my hair is red. I like red velvet cupcakes. But only the red velvet cupcakes with the cream filling inside. I don't like Twinkies though.

She goes to daycare downtown. I go to Stratford Secondary School. It has an amazing performing arts program. I want to be a singer/actress. I also want to be a scuba diver instructor. But I don't know how to swim, so I don't think that'd work out...

Anyway, I'm preparing for school right now because I really like school. Well, most of the time. Chemistry isnt really my friend because one time, this kid put the tips of my hair into a chemical we were mixing (which the teacher said not to do) and it turned my hair greyish/blue. Not the best experience.

I dress in one of my ordinary dresses. I love dresses. I rarely ever wear anything else. I own about 2 pairs of jeans and 5 pairs of leggings. I own a lot of skirts, too. I mostly wear Keds or heels with my dresses because I like them. This one time, when I was first learning to walk in heels, I fell down the stairs and twisted my ankle. But that's only because they were 5 inches.

I have to hurry up though. My nonna is never here, so I have to get Kalina ready, too. I like to dress Kalina in little dresses, too. But she always cries when I do, so I decided she doesn't like dresses. Which makes no sense because dresses are great...but it's fine. She mostly has sweatpants, little sweaters, and onzies so that's what she usually wears.

I put my hair into a ponytail, grab my phone, and put on some pink lipstick. Pink lipstick reminds me of the time when I went to the carnival with my parents and got a giant cotton candy that got stuck in my hair. It was really in there and the only way to get it out was to cut it and I didn't want that because that meant I'd have a huge bald spot. So then I went to the hospital and they put this magic ointment in my hair that made it really soft and they combed the cotton candy out and they gave me a lollipop and I met a boy named Jim. He was a nice kid, but he had cancer and it made me really sad.

I make the short voyage down from my bedroom. My bedroom is in the attic because I like to sing a lot and my nonna doesn't like when I sing really loudly, so she placed me in the attic. I walk to Kalina's room where she was sleeping there peacefully. I didn't want to wake her, but I had to, so I tickled her slightly and she woke up crying.

I picked her up out of the crib. "Don't cry little Kalina. Everything's going to be okay. I promise!" I start making shushing noises in order to get her to calm down. But then I slowly hand her the pacifier and sing softly "Soft kitty, Warm Kitty, Little Ball of fur, Happy Kitty, Sleepy Kitty, Purr, Purr, Purr." She calmed down after that. My mom used to sing me that song when I was younger because I used to never want to go to sleep. I miss her.

I walked over to her tiny baby dresser and pulled out her flower leggings and a white shirt. I get her dressed and loosely braid her hair. She looks so adorable; I just want to eat her up! But I'm pretty sure that that's cannibalism. And murder. I'm too young to go to jail!

I walk downstairs then and pour me some cereal. I then take out some yogurt for Kalina. I open it and take a small plastic spoon. I taste it. I love baby food. I would've devoured it if I didn't remind myself that it wasn't for me.
