MY DARLING ROBIN
My darling robin! how she flew!
Singing her song!
Singing her song!
Singing her song all day long!
T'was a tune unmatched!
Long live the day my Robin!
Robin!
Dear Robin!
I am drunk with your tune.
The world is brighter.
It's spinning faster!
and if I shall die,
I shall die in peace!
for I have experienced heaven's flutepipe so sweet.
Explosion to the lights!
Explosion to the touch!
Explosion to distractions!
May all of nature hear my Darling Little Robin Bird Sing.
For her song is like no other!
For she sings from the soul.
She sings of the soul.
My soul.
My soul.
My soul: a nest for her.
May my heart hold her.
May it be a shelter for my Darling little Robin Bird
As she sings the tune of the seasons
all
year
long.
