"Garrrrothhhhhh! Hurry up!" A small girl whined.
"I'm coming Aphmau, jeez." The boy smiled.
The two small 12-year-olds ran fast, their feet taking them to a nearby park. Aphmau smiled as she ran in front of Garroth, who was lacking behind. The best friends looked back at each other, smiling, feeling happy. They've been friends for as long as they've been brought into this world full of disappointment.
As Aphmau ran ahead, Garroth noticed something. A crack in the sidewalk, that anyone could trip and fall, probably seriously hurting themselves from the hard pavement. But little Aphmau was too carefree, and didn't notice it. She ran fast, making it easy for her to trip over the crack and hurt herself. Garroth's eyes instantly widened.
"Aphmau, wait! Watch o-" He was cut off by her falling. His eyes widened bigger.
What did he see?
Blood and a passed out Aphmau. He quickly ran over to her, shaking her. Tears ran down his cheeks and he wailed. Garroth and Aphmau's mothers quickly caught up, only to be horrified by the sight of the bleeding Aphmau. Zianna quickly took out her cellphone, dialing '9-1-1' while Aphmau's mom ran to Garroth, who was holding Aphmau in his little twelve-year-old arms.
Then there were sirens.
Followed by an ambulance.
Then an Aphmau in a hospital bed.
With amnesia.
Unable to remember anything.
Her family, her friend.
Or Garroth.
"Please, come back. Please remember me." The boy softly cried

Garroth Ro'meave.
At one point in his life, he was happy child.
Then his world fell to pieces, and he was trapped in the middle of it.
First, it was losing his best friend, Aphmau, due to amnesia.
She forgot everything about her childhood. Her family. Her fun memories. And that hurt him the most. She forgot him.
Then it was his parents, due to a tragic car accident. A drunk driver collided with his parents' car, leaving a smashed car, two killed parents, and a depressed Garroth. That happened when he was 17.
Soon after, he lost his brothers. Vylad, the youngest, actually didn't want to leave Garroth. However, his aunt thought it would be better if Vylad got better care. So, she forced Vylad to live with her. And Zane, found his own way through life. Well, the dark side of life. Not caring about Garroth, he also left him behind.
Now, he's 18 and lives by himself.
Over the past year, he made friends such as Laurance, Dante, Travis, Katelyn, and a few others.
But still, Garroth wasn't all about 'living life to the fullest' like his friends were. Yes, sometimes they'd drag him to places he didn't want to go. He was a stubborn person after all.
Even though, he still cherish that he actually has friends he can talk to. Actually, he was quite caring.
But he still sees the world as a dull place. No colour. No light. No happiness. No love.
Just darkness.
A truly miserable place. Full of no emotions that could bring one to absolute joy.
It was just him.
And the darkness.
Or so he thought.
