"Damn it! Doesn't that guy ever rest," the captain shook his head.

"Captain, what's wrong?" Anderson asked.

"We have a major problem. One of the last of the systems on the ship was hacked, our security system. I just lost all control of all ship wide security measures.

The damn infiltrator has just opened parts of the prison area. He freed a third of the prison population I was transporting and I can't help my crew from here. But that isn't even the worst part."

Anderson walked closer to the captain, "What is?"

"We have a few modified mark III androids on board, with a few drones. Each of them are upgraded to military standards. They are used in some of our missions," the captain said.

Anderson raised his eyebrows, "Why would you have military grade droid? Not the most common content for a prison ship."

"In Alliance space yes but out here... we are the law. Sometimes we are the judge, the jury and the executioner. Law and order isn't known to all parts of the border worlds."

"I see. I guess times have change since the Rangers were first created."

"Yes they have but we may have a serious concern. Our infiltrator just took control of the androids and drones; god knows what for purpose."

"Do you have a bearing on the droids? We might pinpoint the infiltrator, "Anderson asked.

"Sorry, can't know. We're locked out of the security system. We only have basic stats, no control or feedback from the droids but I may know where they are heading to."

Anderson knew what the captain was thinking, "Understood captain."

He quickly turned around to contact the major, "Major, do you copy?"

"Yes sir, what's new?" asked the major.

"Major, you may have a big problem coming your way."

"If you mean the half dozen androids and drones armed from head to toe then yeah we do have a big problem..."

"Major, there is also another problem, we can't send any help to you and your men.

The infiltrator has released the prisoners. Most of the captain's men occupied in the lower decks trying to keep the situation controlled and the rest of the crew is still trapped on the ship. I am afraid you are on your own," said Anderson.

There was a pause between the two men, Anderson finally spoke, "Major, should we not speak again I have your last orders."

"Yes Sir?" asked the major.

"You are to secure and keep the target alive, at all cost. Find a nearest human habitat on this planet.

Get yourself and your men off this planet. Your Priority is to get to the secondary location. There I have prepared the next step in your mission and as promised your payment will be there...

Major, I am sorry for putting you and your men in this dire situation. There is more at stake here than I initially disclosed."

Anderson paused and said nothing for a moment.

"Sir?" the major inquired.

"Major, you are my last hope. I had hoped that this mission would have gone unnoticed but it has been the exact opposite. I am afraid the worst possible scenario might take place, despite my efforts," said Anderson.

"Sir what is going on?"

"War major, War. Unfortunately, the war you and your men fought never really ended. After the war the wounds never really healed. The past is haunting the Alliance."
