Samantha POV
So the last few weeks have gone very quickly. I am training harder then ever. A few events have happened through these weeks. Such as Michaels birthday. Not much has really happened between us. We don't talk often, as we are both very awkward people- well I am at least. I would like to say we are friends.
Anyway today is the day that i go to Greece. Yes for the Athens Olympics of 2004. Let's just say I'm very excited, but nervous. What if I let my coach down? What if I let my family down? Or my country? What if I let myself down? Anyway I'm just going to enjoy it, while it lasts.
I'm going to the airport at a ridiculous time in the morning. It's so early that I think there should be a law for it not to be at this time (two am). People who know me know that I love my sleep. When I say love, I literally mean if I wasn't a swimmer I would turn into a sloth.
We (some Olympians) are leaving so early, because the flights are cheaper then. I basically get up and dressed. Seb said he would take me, which is a change.
We finally arrive at the airport. He turns to me and says "Good luck, love you twin," I say love you too back, and get my case out of the car. I wave to him as he drives off, my family are flying over to watch in a couple of days. After he has gone, I head inside to find Bob.
I see a group of tired looking swimmers standing around near check in. I go to join them. Though I don't really talk to them. As they don't really know me, so I just stand awkwardly at the side.
We eventually get on the plane. We have allocated seats, but no one pays attention to them, so I end up sitting next to Nat.
"Hey! How are you?" Nat says in her usual cheerful voice.
"Tired." I answer truthfully. She laughs a little.
"I'm so glad we are sitting next to each other. As I'm so nervous." She says.
"Same!" I reply, "At least we're both in the same position, I suppose. I mean it's our first Olympics. I feel so nervous as, I don't want to let anyone down."
"Don't worry, you won't, I've seen your swimming. It's amazing!" She says, while giving me a hug.
"Thanks. Your swimming is amazing too!" I say in a more cheery tone.
Just as we were about to talk again, a man shouts at everyone, to go to their allocated seats. I sigh and say bye to Nat. She waves and I notice Ryan coming over, and sitting where I sat. I look to see where I am actually meant to be sitting. It turns it to be in front of Nat and Ryan. I sit down, and wait to see who will be next to me.....
I see Michael heading towards my row, so I turn, and look out of the window. Someone then sits next to me. It is Michael. I give him a quick smile, then turn to look out of the window again. I suddenly get so sleepy, and fall asleep.
Michaels POV
I'm honestly so nervous about this Olympics. I didn't win any medals last time, so I feel extra pressure this year. I need to prove to people that I deserve to go. My mum is of course really supportive, and says I deserve to go, but I need to show other people that.
I notice that Samantha has fallen asleep. I smile at her and put my headphones on. She looks really cute, especially when she is sleeping, but I have decided that I need to focus on swimming, and sport. I suddenly feel a weight on my shoulder. I realise that it is Samantha, and that she has fallen asleep on my shoulder. Great (!)
