WA! WA! WA! WA! WA!

Lauren Jauregui sat up with a smile on her face.

Oh man! This is it! Today's the day!

She slammed her hand down onto her alarm clock to stop the buzzing and got undressed to take a shower. As she stripped down, she heard her cell phone ringing. She walked over to her dresser and picked up her phone. The caller ID said ' Normani Kordei'.

Lauren grinned and answered the phone. "Hey, Mani!"

"Hey, Laur. You ready for today?"

"You know it! Do you know what we'll see?"

"Gee, I dunno, Laur. Just because my dad owns the company doesn't mean I know about every little thing going on in that place."

"Yeah, true. Anyway, I'll see you in a bit, Mani. I have to shower."

"Alright. See ya."

Lauren hung up and ran to grab a towel from the closet. In the process she almost ran right into her Aunt Clara.

"Goodness, Lauren! Slow down! I know you're excited but-"

"Sorry, Aunt Clara," Laureni nterrupted. "It won't happen again." She kissed her aunt on the cheek and went into the bathroom to shower.

Lauren sat down a few minutes later to eat breakfast. She saw her Uncle Mike sitting at the kitchen table, drinking coffee and solving a Sudoku puzzle.

"Uh, Uncle Mike, the nine goes there." Lauren said as she pointed to the puzzle to show exactly where it had to go. Her uncle just laughed and shut the newspaper.

"You're getting smarter everyday, Laur. I swear it." Mike Jauregui joked. "Isn't she, Clara?"

"Oh Mike, don't tease her." she replied.

"I'm not!" Mike said with a smile. "Our girl is turning into a great woman!"

Lauren blushed at that statement. She loved her aunt and uncle but they were pretty embarrassing at times. "Thanks, you two." Lauren said while blushing. She glanced at her watch and her eyes nearly bulged out of her head. "Oh crap, I have to go!" She took one more bite of her toast and kissed her aunt and uncle. "Love you guys. See you later!"

Mike and Clara Jauregui watched as their niece grabbed her stuff and walked out the door. Clara sighed. "Teenagers, huh?"

"Yeah." Mike said with a chuckle. Soon enough he went back to solving his Sudoku puzzle.

Lauren arrived at school with a minute to spare. She was late for the bus by only a few seconds but even then it was too late. She ran after the bus for around six blocks before she started to cramp up and had to catch her breath.

"That was close." she said, panting. She had her hands on her knees and it took almost all of her effort to stay standing.

When she finally stood up straight, she took one step forward. Then she was knocked over by Austin Mahone, the bully of Midtown High School. "Hey, Jauregui. Welcome back to Hell."

"Good one, Dorito Boy." Lauren replied, but immediately regretted it. Austin stopped dead in her tracks. Uh oh, I thought.

"What... did you... just call me?"

"Um..." Lauren gulped. She was probably dead. "...nothing."

"Say it, Jauregui. Your beating will be worse if you lie about it."

Lauren sighed. "I called you Dorito Boy." Not long after she said that, Lauren Jauregui had a black eye and was laying on her back, looking at the sky.

"Great start to the day, Lauren. Just... great."

She tried to sit up, but it was too painful, so she just laid back again. Eventually the sunlight was covered by a shadow, and she opened her eyes.

There she was. The most beautiful girl Lauren knew, with her straight black brownish hair and gorgeous eyes and that soft smile. Lucy Vives.

God, she's an angel.

"Hey Tiger, What're you doing?" she asked.

"Uh, yanno, just... checking the ground for-"

"Austin did this, didn't he?"

"Yeah, but Lucy, please don't ask him about it. He'll just get madder."

Lucy rolled her eyes and sighed. "He's just gonna keep doing this to you, Laur. You know that, right?"

Lauren just laughed. "Yep. I know. On the bright side, I think I'm building up a resistance to him, though. C'mon, let's get inside. They need to take roll call so we can leave for Oscorp."
