Lauren woke up the next morning at 9:00. Oh, great. My alarm clock didn't go off.

she got up from the floor and... Wait, why am I on the floor? What happened yesterday?

She struggled to remember ant details she could remember about yesterday. She remembered going on the field trip to Oscorp and getting bitten by a red and blue spider. She looked at her hand to see if the bite was swollen or infected, but she saw nothing. There was just a small amount of redness where the bite was.

"Huh. That's odd."

She went into the bathroom to brush her teeth, but when she looked in the mirror she second guessed herself as to whether or not she was actually awake. She was ripped. Absolutely ripped. Every inch of her body was covered in lean muscle. "Is that... a six pack?" she asked out loud.

She laughed and flexed. She kept feeling herself to make sure it wasn't an illusion. It wasn't. Overnight, Lauren went from puny to powerful.

"What the hell happened to me? I'm totally freakin' hot! Is this a delayed cycle of puberty, or..." She suddenly remembered the spider.

Could that have anything to do with this? Either way... it's about time.

Lauren did have to get to school still, so she brushed her teeth and got dressed. Her clothes were tight on her now.

"Aunt Clara? Uncle Mike? Anyone home?"

No one replied.

"Hmm. Where could they be?"

She walked into the kitchen to grab some breakfast before heading to school. She noticed a note on the table. She picked it up and read it to himself.

Lauren, we went out to Home Depot to but some paint for the kitchen. Hope you feel better. There's soup on the stove if you're hungry. Love you.

"God bless 'em." she said before grabbing her bag and leaving the house.

While walking to school, Lauren got a call from Lucy.

"Hey, Lucy, what's up?"

"Where are you Tiger?"

"I just woke up. I'm headed to school now. Why?"

"You had me worried yesterday. I called you a bunch and you didn't answer."

"Really?" Lauren checked her missed calls. Sure enough, there were six from her.

"Crap... sorry Lucy. I passed out as soon as I got into my room. Didn't wake up until a little while ago."

"Well I hope you remembered the chemistry test is today. I needed you to tutor me, remember?"

Lauren's eyes widened. I completely forgot!

"Oh my God, Lucy! I'm so sorry! It's just I felt so sick after I got home that I couldn't do it."

"Well then I'm cheating off of you." she said with a chuckle.

"Alright. See you soon, Lucy."

"See ya, Tiger."
-

During the test, Lauren felt great. She was, as usual, finished before everyone else. She looked at Lucy, who was cheating away.

"You almost finished? I need to hand this in soon." she whispered to her.

"Gimme like two more minutes." she replied.

She sat back and tried to relax. All she could think of, though, was her new build. She kept feeling her new muscles, just to make absolutely positive there wasn't any chance she could still be dreaming.

She still wasn't sure exactly why she was like this. The spider? Something I ate? I'll need to do some research before...

She looked at her hand. Her pencil was sticking to it. What the hell...? She glanced around the room to see if anyone was looking at her. When she pulled it off, it just stuck to her other hand. She had to shake her hand hard to get the pencil off.

"What the hell are you doing?" Lucy whispered.

"Sorry." she replied. "You done now?"

"Yeah. You turn yours in first. I'll turn mine in later. It'll be less suspicious on my part."

"Got it."

When Lauren went to hand her paper in, the same thing happened. The paper wouldn't get off of her hand. She shook her hand hard and made a fool out of herself in front of the whole class.

"Ms. Jauregui, just hand me the paper." said Mr. Warren in an annoyed tone.

"Uh, here." She handed the paper to her teacher, who grabbed it. He tried pulling it towards her, but he couldn't.

"Lauren, let go."

"I'm not holding on!" Lauren replied.

Mr. Warren had to pull hard in order to rip it out of Lauren's hand. Flustered, he adjusted his glasses while staring at Lauren.

"Sorry, Mr. Warren. May I go to the bathroom?"

"Yes."

Lauren grabbed the hall pass and walked to the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror. Suddenly, her vision went blurry.

"What the...?" she said in surprise. She pulled off her glasses to see if the were smudged, but once she did that her vision went perfectly clear.

"No way."

She put her glasses back on, and her vision went blurry. She took them off and she could see clearly. She did this a few more times before coming to a conclusion: I don't need glasses anymore!

"This day is getting better and better." she said to herself.

She walked back to her classroom with a smile on her face. She sat down and started drawing more pictures of spiders and Ricochet.

"How did you make it back here without your glasses? Did you bump into anything?" asked Lucy.

"I can see." she replied.

"You're blind as a bat!" she countered.

"For some reason I can see. I don't know why."

What's happening to me?
