Chapter 1

For Niall Horan being a hybrid is really difficult. He really couldn't go out and play with other kids in his neighborhood. He really couldn't go swimming in public or play any sports. His heat felt like it would never end when it came around. Dogs would bark at him until he was a good 20 feet away from them. He was always wearing sweatpants and a beanie every time he went out the house. He absolutely hated it with a burning passion. He just wanted to be normal like everyone else but he knew he couldn't. He's been a hybrid ever since he was 10 years old. It was all because of his father that he turned out like this. His father and his assistant, Lou, thought that they could make animals and humans think exactly alike. Niall's father thought it wouldn't work the first time he tested it out so he used Niall.

As a result, Niall came out of the building with a tail and kitten ears to go along with it. The process was quite painful and Niall never wanted to go through that ever again. Before his father could even break down how it happened, he died from a heart attack. His assistant decided to finish were he had left off with Niall's father. He got his own assistant, Ed, to help him out with the experiment. They watched over time as Niall grew sharper nails and cat like teeth and his eyes shifting from time to time. As time went on, Lou and Ed got a little bit mean to Niall up until he ran away at the age of 17. He went to go find his mother and go live with her until he could get himself a nice paying job. He finally did at the age of 19 landing a job at a cute little bakery place.

He met his best friend Louis at his job and they hit it off quite well. Louis didn't really question why Niall always had his head covered with something and wear really baggy pants. He just thought that was Niall dress style and he stuck with that. He never question when Niall would sometimes softly purr when his head was rubbed the right way or when he was relaxed. Niall could never bring himself to tell Louis what he was because he didn't want to lose him. Louis was the only real friend that he had and he didn't want to fuck it up over his weirdness. Niall lived in a nice and quiet neighborhood so he wouldn't be bother as much. He just moved in a few days ago and he was really loving it. He didn't have to worry about Lou and Ed stabbing him with needles, calling him names, and making him do stupid little things.

He wanted to be friends with his neighbor Harry but he never got around to it. He's seen him a few times and he may have a slight crush on the tall male. He couldn't help it and decided to just wait for the right time to go introduce himself. He really hoped that Harry was a nice guy. He didn't want to live next to a bully because he definitely knows he'll have to move. Even though he wasn't bullied in school or out of school, he didn't want to be bullied now. He wasn't very good at hiding his emotions and he really wasn't that strong. Sure he has better smelling, tasting, seeing, hearing, and touching senses but he still sees himself as a weak boy even though he's 23 now. Who could blame him when he's been told that by two crazy scientists for 6 years of his life.

Niall was currently getting his bath water ready. His tail swaying slowly behind him as he grabbed a dry towel. His ears stood straight as he heard his doorbell ring throughout the house. He turned off the water and sat his towel down on the sink counter before leaving the bathroom. He tried to see who it was already cancelling out Louis knowing he was doing some shopping. He walked to the front door and looked through the peephole to see a brown headed girl standing there. He had no idea who this was and it kind of frighten him. He took a deep breath through his nose and let it out when he opened the door. She held out a card to him with a smile on her pale face. He took it and smiled back at the short girl who stuffed her hands in her pockets.

"I saw you around and thought that you'd like to come to this party. It's totally up to you though and you could bring a friend if you are going." The girl said before holding out her hand."I'm Jane by the way."

"Niall." He said and Jane nodded and let go his hand then turned around walking over to the house right next to his."She seems like a nice girl."

"Bestie I'm home!" Jane shouted as she entered Harry's house hearing a laugh from upstairs.

"I don't recall making you my best friend." Harry said and he heard Jane gasp downstairs.

"Do not test me young man." Jane said playfully with a growl as Harry came down with a big smile on his face.

"I am finally ready." Harry said as he came to hug his friend tightly then did a nice 5 second pose.

"What took you so long to get ready?" Jane asked as they walked into the living room and sat on the couch.

"A old friend of mine stopped by." Harry said turning on the TV and turned to Austin & Ally. He may be 21 but he liked this show for some odd reason.

"This friend's name would be." Jane said as she motioned her hand for Harry to tell her.

"Zayn, you've met him once or twice." Harry said and Jane nodded before she clasped her hands together and leaned her head on his shoulder.

"Well, I've been waiting to tell you that you got a neighbor a few days ago." She said with a smile on her face."And it's a guy."

"Cool." He said not really caring. People come and go around his neighbor hood. Nothing good ever happens so what's the big deal about this?
