Evan and I were packing our bags to leave.

"Skye, you do realize we can only take one bag right?" He asked
"Of course I do," I rolled my eyes. "That's why I'm taking so long. I don't know what to take."
"Easy. Food, clothes, a water bottle, lighter, sleeping bag, and stuff for bad weather." He retorted and walked away to get his bag from his room.

After he walked back in, we quietly opened my window, took off the net, and climbed out the window using a bed sheet. I told Evan not to look back or else we would have bad luck but of course he did anyway. And boy was I right about the bad luck.

We walked through the woods behind our house for a while but soon enough, we were too tired to continue. We found a place to stop and set out our sleeping bags. Strange sounds filled the air and made it hard to sleep. Then out of nowhere a little light popped out. It flew all around us like it was dancing.

"That thing is too big to be a lightning bug..." Evan said.

It flew up to my face and I saw it for what it really was. A faerie.

"Evan," I said. "It's a faerie."
"Ya right," he replied. But then it flew up to him and he saw it too. She gestured to follow her so we packed up our stuff and we did. She led us through various twists and turns of the woods and the further we walked, the more faeries joined us, each with a different colored glow. They led us through a murky river filled with croaking frogs and crickets. Soon enough, the only light left was the glow of the fae and the faint glow of something ahead. The light got stronger and stronger until there it was. A magnificent, glowing, golden door that seemed to be carved into the trunk of an enormous oak tree. The faeries opened the door and went through, gesturing us to follow. We couldn't see anything through the door due to the bright light but like any adventurous souls. We went through.
