Evan and I stepped through and I felt like I was falling to my death. A sharp pain went through my legs and back as I hit the ground. Somehow, Evan landed on his feet, superhero style.
As I looked around I noticed the sun was setting next to enormous planets in the pinkish orange sky. There were small gorgeous houses that seemed to come out of a fairytale. And the biggest shock of all. The dragon. It had midnight blue scales and purple eyes that flashed green when it saw us. It was as big as my bedroom and when it stalked toward us, like a predator stalking its prey, Evan squealed and climbed a tree. It approached me and circled, like it was going to eat me.
"SKYE GET UP HERE ITS GONNA EAT YOU" Evan screamed.
I nodded but was too scared to move my legs. Then the dragon got closer and closer and then nudged me. It flapped its wings made a soft growl.
"Do you want me to get on your back?" I asked, knowing it probably would not understand I word I said. Apparently I was wrong because it nodded its head and sat on the ground. I had ridden a horse before but I knew this would be something completely different.
"Skye what are you doing?"
"I don't know but I'm not about to say no to something that can kill me."
"Maybe I can break off a branch and hurt it so it can't hurt you."
"I don't think--" I began to say. Abruptly the dragon started to walk and I grabbed onto its collar. After it moved forward a few hundred feet it turned around and started to run towards the tree Evan was in. Evan started screaming and suddenly we were flying.
It was incredible. The air was cold but the dragon had a lot of body heat that kept me from freezing. I touched the clouds and laughed with the faeries. The birds flew along side us and sang their beautiful songs. The whole thing felt like freedom. Even though I didn't feel scared I didn't want to look down, fearing I would fall. After some time the dragon circled above where we took off and landed. I slid down its tail and laughed at Evan's horrified face.
"That was amazing Ev you've gotta try." I exclaimed.
"I'd rather not." He replied looking a little green.
I turned to the dragon. "I'm gonna call you Toothless like the dragon from How to Train a Dragon. He was awesome."
The dragon bared its razor sharp teeth at me as if to show it did in fact have teeth. I smirked and said, "I don't care. You're gonna be Toothless."
Then it huffed, turned, and flew away.
So I realized that my original story was really bad and childish so I'm gonna change a lot of it but I think the basic stuff will stay the same. We'll see. Xoxo
