*Chase's POV*

Something felt off. I had no idea what, but something did. It was kind of like my own personal foreshadowing. I knew something was going to end badly but I couldn't really tell what. There was like this huge hole that swirled in my stomach. Like a black hole, eating away at my insides. It was a weird feeling, and I wanted it to stop but more importantly I wanted to know why I felt like that.

We walked to the cargo plane. The hanger was wide open so we could get in easily. Considering the pilot never left, we were ready for take off as soon as we got there. All we had to do was wait for the other team.

Looking down at the papers in my hand, I sighed. They made no sense. It was like the zombies had taken the infection to a whole other level. One that was certainly not intended. The infection was caused by an experiment gone wrong but the thing was, there was no record (that I could decipher from all the jargon) of what the experiment it was. They could have been trying to cure foot fungus for all I knew!

Throwing my hands in the air, I leaned on a crate that we had moved from the plane onto ground.

"Any luck?" Andrew asked, hoping up on the crate.

Shaking my head, I groaned in frustration.

"We can just wait for Rory, she's good with this type of stuff." He suggested, shrugging and swinging his legs back and forth like a three year old.

I huffed before realizing he was right. I jumped up on the crate beside him and looked at the descending sunset.

"I have a really bad feeling." I admitted out loud. Feeling slightly better for not longer having to decipher why by myself.

Andrew shifted slightly so he could partially face me. "What type of bad feeling?"

"Like I'm getting eaten alive..." I mumbled looking down at my hands.

He just sighed. "She's going to make it back fine." He stated looking back at the sinking ball of fire.

Nodding, I just hoped that he was right.

A loud beeping noise made us all turn our attention to the campus. After a few seconds of what sounded like a fire alarm, noises of thousands of zombies waking filled our eardrums. They shrieked and screamed inhumanly.

People moved around us, grabbing their guns and weapons before facing towards the entrance to town. I couldn't move though. My feet were glued to the floor. I prayed to every God I knew that Rory would make it back alive.

Everyone was tense as we watched the entrance. It was too late to try and leave silently. We would have to fight our way out.  Finally making my feet move, I ran over to the closest box and took cover. Loading up some gun that was there, I looked down the sights and aimed toward the road. Holding my breath, I waited for them to come running.

My heart was beating in my ears. It was like I couldn't take enough air into my lungs and just ended up gasping for breathe. But even though all those emotions, I kept a deadly steady aim.

Silence.

That was all I heard while I watched for them to pop up. A deafening silence that rang in my ears. It made it like what was happening around me had no affect, the only thing I could focus on was if I would see her brown hair go flying, swinging in the wind while she ran to safety.

Breathe.

Silence.

Breathe....

Something fell on my shaking hand and I just sighed once I realized what it was. Rain was trickling down. I listened carefully for the thunder, but did not move my vision to look at the lightening.
