After about fifteen minutes of small talk Sara could wait no longer to hear Josie's story.

"So Josie you said you met my Dad on the plane on the way back from Colorado about six years ago?" she posed it as a question.

With that question Josie took a deep breath and then set her empty wine glass down. Adam attempted to refill it but she covered the glass and shook her head. Then she sat back took another deep breath and began talking.

"You see, I had just turned twenty one. It was my first trip alone and I was so excited. For over a year I had been talking to an online friend and my parents finally agreed to let me come east to visit him to see if we hit it off the way we did online......" As she spoke she began reliving the whole experience as if time had brought her back to that time and place...............

"Attention passengers of flight fifty-one twenty-five to Providence, Rhode Island now boarding at gate fifty three." Came over the public address system of the Colorado Springs International Airport. Robert Stevens grabbed the handle of his carry on and waited for the gate attendant to give the general boarding instructions after the first class, handicapped and families with small children had finished boarding.

Finally, the announcement came "All other passengers may now board the plane."

Robert was third in line. He wanted a window seat. It was the only thing he liked about flying. The attendant scanned his ticket and he proceeded to walk down the gangway as he entered the plane he asked for a seatbelt extender so that the seat belt would be long enough to cross his lap. He always said that one day he wouldn't need one but today wasn't that day. He took a seat at the back of the plane one of the last rows with a good view out the window.

At that moment a young red headed woman was running through the airport trying to catch her flight.

"Excuse me! Coming through! Excuse me!!" She exclaimed as she ran.

It was her first time flying alone and she couldn't miss her plane because then her father and mother would be all over her about how irresponsible she was. It wasn't her fault that the shuttle that picked her up at her house had a flat tire and they had to wait for a replacement shuttle.

As she ran she came to a sudden stop almost getting run into by another person who was right behind her. She stared out the window. She was in the international flight lobby and the huge panes of glass showed the seven forty-sevens and seven eighty sevens as well as some smaller planes used for overseas travel.

"WOW!!" she exclaimed as she looked at the planes. She had never flown alone and had never taken the time to notice these things before. She stood there adjusting her Hello Kitty backpack.

A woman standing next to her in a security uniform stared at her. "Have you never flown before sweetie?" the woman was African American but her voice reminded her of her own grandmothers' voice.

"Oh no, I have just not travelled alone before, and I have never paid attention to the planes before. They are amazing." The red headed girl said with a huge smile on her face.

She was always interested in wondrous things. When her family would go on vacation she always wanted to explore the more far out things and out of the way places. She never wanted to do the norm, she always wanted to take the road less travelled knowing that that was where she would find the things no one else thought to look for. If it were the nineteen sixties she probably would have been a hippie or a beatnik.

The older woman smiled at her, she liked her youthful exuberance. "Hey sweetie, what plane are you trying to catch?"

The girl showed her her ticket "Hey this flight is boarding now you better hurry...wait..." She flagged down a passing people cart normally used to transport passengers with handicaps. "Where are you going?" she asked the young man driving.
