Lianna's POV.

Turning my head to the side, I faked nonchalance and glanced in the direction of the new voice, careful not to extend my claws or fangs, or wrinkle my nose at the revolting stench of blood and sulfur. Two empousai, dressed in cheerleaders outfits, were standing with their arms crossed, checking Percy out. And not in a good way. More like a, 'aww-you're-so-pathetic-let-me-eat-you' kind of way. I stiffened up, not listening to anything more of what they had to say. Instead, I casually started looking around for exits, incase we had to move fast. There! An open doorway to the left, dark, the lights off. The plaque next to the door read 'Music Room'. Perfect. Secluded. Incase push came to shove, I could kill them in there as to avoid being seen.

I tensed up, sensing a disturbance in the area of the empousai. They had shed their disguises and were now looking threateningly at Percy. Something they said a few seconds ago rang like alarm bells in my head. 'You will be so tasty.'

Shit. Shitshitshitshitshit. I pulled sharply away from Percy and turned, lunging towards Rachel and tackling her protectively, rolling us both into an open doorframe on the left of the hallway. Making sure we were clear, I leapt to my feet and tugged Rachel to hers, hiding her behind the xylophone and leaping upon a cabinet myself as Percy jumped into the room as well. Crouching low, to avoid being seen, I carefully watched the battle. Percy parried off the younger empousai's attack and slashed her across the chest. She wailed and evaporated. The elder looked at him in fury and came at him in an attack of whirling claws and bucking legs. She jumped away from Percy's blade, but not before kicking him hard in the thigh. I winced. That, was definitely going to hurt. Percy certainly felt it. His knee buckled and he fell down on one leg. The empousai sensed his weakness and lunged for the kill. Before she could reach him, a bongo drum smacked her in the head and tossed her sideways. The empousai and myself looked to see who threw it.

"You leave my friends alone!" Shouted my best friend, Rachel Elizabeth Dare, who had another drum in hand, reared back, totally prepared to throw it.

"We do not usually feed from females, but I think we will make an exception for you, Dare!" The empousai hissed before launching herself towards my friend. But I was faster, shooting off of my perch and slamming into the empousai in a flying tackle, I bowled her over and thrust her away with my legs, towards the doorway. Standing, I strode over to Rachel and stood in front of her protectively. There was no need. Percy was closing in on her. Suddenly, there were voices down the corridor.

The empousai grinned evilly and began to shout, "Percy, please, no, what are you doing percy? Please no!" She pleaded out, then screamed dramatically and burst aflame when the tour group was watching. Everyone looked at Percy in horror, while Rachel and I hid unnoticed.

I saw Paul look at Percy in disappointment before saying that he was expelled and escorting him and the group away. Percy was limping, I took notice of that, and made a mental note to grab him a pack of ice.

"Why is everyone not asking about the fiery explosion?" Rachel whispered.

"The Mist." I whispered back. "C'mon, coast is clear." Leading her up and towards the door.

"Wait, Lia, wait. Stop." She said, tugging me back before we exited the room. I looked at her in confusion. "What's wrong? " I asked.

"Your eyes. They're bloodred. You have to change them back, incase any more monsters are around."

I realized she was right. I had almost exposed myself. Concentrating, I felt them change back to my electric blue-green. "Better?" I asked. She nodded. We left the room and began heading towards the direction in which Percy was escorted. I then remembered the ice. "Stay right here for one minute Rach, I'll be right back." I sheered off and in two seconds was raiding the cafeteria freezer for ice. I found a chunk and wrapped it in paper towels before sheering back to Rachel. "Ok, we're good, let's find Ash." She looked at the ice in my hand.
