Prologue:
I woke up in the morning and realized something, I was tired. Tired of the same thing every generation, kidnap Zelda's reincarnation, give her to Gannon, try to kill link, then get defeated and 'die'. I wanted a change, a new life, so even though I loved Ganondorf like a father, I decided I that I was going to leave.
When I got up, a young moblin servant knocked on my door and peaked his head in. "Master Dark, breakfast is ready." He shyly said to me with a small smile on his face.
"Thanks, Mazu, I'll be right there." I smiled in response. "Have a good day!"
"Uh... yes, of course! You as well, Master Dark." He replied in befuddlement.
When I reached downstairs, the delicious smell of bacon, eggs, and toast wafted up my nose. A huge grin stretched across my face as I sped across the hall and through the maze of castle rooms to the kitchen.
"Oh! Looks like someone's up with high spirits." Myda - the head cook and my old nursemaid who'd take father's place if he were busy - smiled when she saw me slide into the doorway. "Goodness boy! You're not even in you're day clothes yet! Put a shirt on for Pete's sake!" She laughed when she looked at me. She had to look up at me - yes even from that distance - seeing that she, like all the other staff in the castle, was a moblin.
"Nope! I like it, feel more free that way." I grinned and took a piece of bacon after giving her a peck her the cheek.
"And what if the younger maids see you? You know how they get when you're like that." She looked as if she was challenging me.
"Then I'll simply laugh at their red faces and confidently strut away. Simple as that." I laughed and walked towards the door. "Great bacon, Myda."
Then the day went on, boring and normal as ever.
First was language with Mr.Wath. It was the most boring of all the classes... and the dumbest. Seriously, my teacher made me write a five paged essay on the word the. The. Yeah, fun, totally.
Second, I had history with Madam Lashe. She taught me about the most recent thing that happened with the supposed Hero Of Time and how he beat up my father. I'll always hate him, Link, my so called brother. The person I was based off of. The one I was created to defeat. Apparently he was assisted by the Twilight Princess, Midna, and has the ability to turn into a beast.
Third was my second favorite, survival with Mrs. Billo. In this class I learned all about surviving out in the wild. I learned what each chu jelly did, what I can and cannot eat, how to avoid wild monsters that don't follow Gannondorf, how to make a fire, and so on. I even learned about this rare jelly made from black chu. Mrs.Billo said its dangerous, although she doesn't know what it does, but I should just avoid drinking it.
Now fourth was my last session, and my favorite. Defensive arts and combat. I didn't see this as a class, but as a stress reliever. My mentor Kaba, was actually my age, and -unlike all the other staff- he wasn't a moblin. He was actually a Hylian. A few years ago, he came running to the castle for Gannondorf's protection, trying to get away from his family, the Royal Guards, and, well, his life basically. So father took him in and we've been friends ever since.
He was my best friend, actually. Whenever I spoke to him, he'd listen. When I wanted to sneak out, instead of telling my father like any other responsible mentor would, he'd help me and most of the time he'd come along. I tell him everything.
"Hey Kaba! What are we learning today?" I half-yelled-half-called.
"Dark! Late as usual, I see. Today we actually aren't doing anything." He smiled. I gave him a confused look, gesturing for him to continue. "Ha hah. You've already learned everything! I was thinking we could just hang out, chat. You know what I mean?" His grin got wider.
"Ok, I'm down with that." I chuckled lightly and sat next to him.
"Hey, look what I managed to get." He smiled and pulled out a large, freshly baked bun from the bag he always has. Bread here was very, very rare.
"Holy goddess how the heck did you get that?" I grinned so wide it should have ripped my face in two. He handed me a piece and the fresh smell wafted up my nose.
"Mailman. Turns out, he bakes for a hobby. He gave me some bread and said to say hi to you and your dad for him. So, hi." We laughed and then started to eat our bread in silence.
I decided to break it, by bringing up my newest decision. "Hey, uh... I'm leaving." I said
"What? You just got here! Am I that boring?" Kaba joked.
"No! Not right now, later. Tonight, actually. But, it's different this time. I don't think I'm coming back. Sorry, man." I looked down at my half-eaten bread, then looked at him.
"Oh, when do we leave? I am coming with you, right?"
"Actually," I looked at him with a sorry face, "I'm going alone. I hope you understand, I need to get out there. And not on some silly mission or anything like that. I need to see the world, explore. Y'know what I mean?"
He looked back with an understanding that only best friends share. "I do understand. But will I at least see you soon? It's gonna be hard without my bro to back me up. And when you do come back, bring me some souvenirs would ya?" He lightheartedly chuckled.
I bumped my shoulder into his. "You know it. And, thanks for understanding."

It was night and I just finished packing. It was time that I left.
When I got to the main hall, I saw father standing by himself, thinking. "Dad, I'm going out to find her. I'll be back later." I said, trying my hardest not to sound suspicious.
"Okay, contact me as soon as you find her." He mumbled.
"Yes dad, love you." I replied, and walked out as fast as possible, not once turning back.
