I lay next to her. My heart beats at a thousand miles an hour. I turn around and analyse her features. I look at her lips and her nose and as I stare into her eyes I get this feeling as if this was all meant to be. Before I can say anything she presses her lips against mine.

I start to pull away in order to catch my breath but she holds on to my head not allowing me to distance myself from her. I feel her tears on my skin. I know that we can never be together and that after our lips separate our fairy tale will end. I'll go back to my boyfriend and we'll pretend it never happened.. But I can't help but wish!
She pushes me away and smiles weakly.
''I love you!'' I hear myself say. I regret it immediately seeing the look of shock on her face.
''I love you too!'' she whispers.
As we lay in silence I think about what our lives would be like if I wasn't dating Jack, about our kids, our jobs.. A single tear falls down my cheek as she lets go of my hand.
