The best ways to get inspiration is to simply read. You can read any of my books or books that have lots of imagery. I can usually get inspired by reading something with lots of imagery. Here's a story prompt if you don't feel like reading.
Story prompt: a new guy has come to your school there are rumors about his father being in jail. Mystery surrounds him.
