Ashleen Edmonds POV
"I want to do this" I said to Kerruche
"Are you sure?" She asked and I nodded
"I'll be back" I said getting out of the car and made my way in the prison
"Who are you here for?" The police officer asked me
"Kenneth Brian Edmonds" I answered
"Family, friend or girlfriend" She said eyeing me
"I'm his daughter" I answered dryly
"Fill out this form" she said throwing a pen and paper at me. I filled it out and she went to the back and came back with my father
"Go to the table over there, but you shouldn't have any form of physical contact" she explained, and I rolled my eyes at her making my way to the table
"Hey baby girl" my dad said
"Daddy, I miss you" I said sadly
"I miss you too. Who did you come with?" He asked me
"I came with Kerruche"
"Where is she?" He asked looking around
"She is in the car. How are you doing? You don't look too good" I said looking at him. He looked defeated and beaten. His baby face was ruined
"I'm fine" He said sighing. Fine is not how he looks
"Dad, you look horrible. They beat up your handsome face"
"It's just a few bruises, nothing to worry yourself self about"
"Dad, I miss you. When are you coming back home?" I asked starting to tear up
"I don't know, my lawyer said I should have a bail hearing tomorrow, but we'll see" he answered shrugging
We talked for ten more minutes, then I left. I got home to a very quiet house.
"Hello?" I said loud enough. There seemed to be no one, but I left my grandmother taking a nap
"Grandma" I called hoping to get an answer, but it was still quite.
"Where could she be?" I asked myself. Maybe she went out with her friend Ms Loretta Devine
I didn't check upstairs, I took my keys from the kitchen counter and went to visit Toni.
I knocked for a while before I heard her coming to open for me. She opened and her eyes were really swollen, red. She looked like a mess.
"Hi Ash" she greeted. I closed the door and gave her a hug. Immediately when I did that she burst into tears , I couldn't help myself because I cried with her.
"I miss him so much Ash, I don't think I can make it another day" She said pulling away from the hug and wiped her tears.
"I miss him too, but you got to stay strong " I said leading her to her bedroom
"Why? I don't have the strength to do that"
"You have to stay strong, I need you and my baby needs you too. Believe it or not my father needs you too" I told her while wiping my tears. She sighed and looked up
"Where is your grandmother?" She asked
"I don't know, I think she went out with her friend Ms Loretta Devine" She stayed quite for a while
"Did you check the whole place to make sure?"
"I didn't, I only called out her name but didn't get a reply. So I figured that she went out"
"Let's go back just to be sure" She said hurrying to the car
We got there very quickly because it is not far from the house. We got in and it was now too quiet. Since it was now 7pm the whole house was dark. We called for her and Toni decided to go upstairs to check for her
"I'm going to check upstairs"
"Alright, be careful" I said to her
The side lamp switched on and an unexpected voice startled us
"I wouldn't do that if I was you" she said evilly
"Oh my goodness" Toni said when she saw the knife and gun on the coffee table
AN: hey people, I am so sorry for the wait. I have been so busy with work, exams and preparing for senior prom which is next week. I can't wait for that.
