Mia was looking out the car window as her dad drove to their new home. She watched as other cars drove. She saw houses that were bigger than any other house she's had. She placed her head against the window and thought about the future. Would she make friends? Will she be bullied again? Will she live through more than a year of school? Will she do something unforgivable?

They arrived at their new home. Her dad put the car in the garage. They got out the car and began to put their belongings inside. They were going back and forth; putting boxes around the empty house. They had each chosen a room and were putting their things inside. Mia chose the room at the front of the house. It had a roof where she could sit on if she climbed out her window. Her room had yellow walls and wooden flooring. She sat in the window as she watched her parents carry boxes. A women from next door came to the fence and spoke to her mum.

"Hi," the woman from next door spoke to Mia's mum. She stood at the fence and smiled at the new comers. "I'm Lisa, Lisa Dolan. I guess you're new here! And my neighbour! It's lovely to meet you!"

Mia's mum smiled at her. "It's lovely to meet you too! I'm Emma, Emma Watson. I just moved here from New York with the family. We didn't really have a happy time in New York," Emma said.

"Oh, that must be terrible!" Lisa exclaimed. "My boys haven't really enjoyed their time either. We've moved a few times ourselves. I think we've finally found the perfect place! Hopefully this place is perfect for you too!"

"So, you have children?"

"Yeah, I've got three. I've got Cameron; she's the oldest. She's the only girl and she's very close to the boys. She's very caring and very mature. The boys, Ethan and Grayson, are two years younger than Cameron. Ethan is older by 20 minutes, leaving Grayson as the baby of the house. They are both very energetic and respons-"

Lisa was cut off by the sound of glass smashing. Then two boys came running towards her from the back yard. She watched as they pushed and shoved each other. Emma realised they looked so similar.

"It was his fault!" They both exclaimed, pointing at each other. "My fault?! No, it was your fault!" They then began to fight. They were pushing each other and pinning each other to the ground. They were rolling around the grass. "This is your fault! No it's not! It's yours!" They continued to blame one another.

"Boys!" Lisa yelled. The twins stopped and looked at their mum. "I don't care who broke it, but both of you are fixing it! Clean it up, now! And stop fighting, you're going to hurt one another!" They ran back into the back yard.

"That's the point..." one said as they were running back. He pushed the other over and ran into the house. The other followed behind him, threatening to get revenge. The other was laughing. Lisa turned her attention to Emma.

"Wow, it must be difficult looking after them!" Emma exclaimed. Lisa nodded.

"So, do you have any kids?" Lisa asked.

"Yeah, I've got two," Emma replied. "Chloe is 16, almost 17. You'll probably meet her first because she's always out and about. Mia is 14, almost 15. She hardily leaves her room, so you might not see her. She doesn't like to talk to people. She's at that age..."

"My boys are 14! They could talk and get to know each other! Since you're probably too busy to make your family dinner, why don't you come round at about 6pm and you could join us! You could meet the rest of the family!"

"I'd love to! I'll see you at 6pm, then!" And that was when Mia's nightmare started...

Mia and her family were making their way to next door. They had been invited over for dinner. They knocked on the front door and waited for someone to open up. The door opened to reveal a woman. She smiled at them and welcomed them inside. She led them through the house and into the back yard. There was a little campfire in the middle of a few people. There was a man and a girl and then two boys who looked like each others mirror reflection. Mia sat down next to her family. She went on her phone and tried to avoid all eye contact with anyone. The only time she put her phone down was when she was eating. Everyone was talking, except for Mia.

She opened up Twitter and saw tweets about her. People were posting pictures of her and tweeting bad things about her. She left Twitter and opened Instagram. Once again, there were pictures of her with captions saying bad things about her. She closed Instagram and opened Facebook. There were posts all over Facebook and her page. People were saying rude comments and posting pictures of her. She couldn't take it. She closed her phone and left.

"Mia?" Mrs Dolan asked as Mia began to leave.

Mia didn't turn round, or begin to answer Mrs Dolan. "She's fine! She usually does that! I will talk to her later, we shouldn't stop this evening so soon! I'm sure she's fine!" Emma explained. Mia walked home and went straight to her room. Her phone was buzzing from all the bad things everyone was saying. She couldn't take it. It was killing her! She screamed as loud as she could and threw her phone at the wall. Her phone smashed and everything went quiet.

Everyone heard a scream and ran next door. They ran through the house and ran to Mia's room. They tried the door, but it was locked. They began to bang on the door, asking Mia to open the door. She was sitting in the corner of her room, crying. She couldn't take it any more. She was disturbed by her window opening. She looked up to see the two boys. They were sitting in her window. They had climbed onto the roof to get into her room.

They smiled at her. "Hey, are you alright?" They asked in unison. She looked at them with teary eyes. She didn't respond. She continued to cry into her hands. They walked closer to her and sat in front of her. They tried to not get to close to her. The sound of everyone banging on the door echoed in the room. Their voices muffled by each other. They watched her and waited for her to respond.

"It's okay," one twin spoke. "I know you feel like you're living through Hell, but there are people who love you and care for you. There are people out there who want to help you. I understand that you might think no one understands you, but some people might know exactly what you're going through. Don't listen to what people say about you. You shouldn't get yourself all worked up from what someone else said. Life is way too long to think about something until it stresses you out."

"So don't get strung up on little thing right now because in a couple years, months, weeks, some times even days!" The other twin added. They were still sitting in front of her. They were sitting cross legged on the floor next to each other.

"Hours!" The first twin added.

"It won't even matter to you any more. Some really embarrassing things that might happen now could be things you're going to be laughing about in the future," she looked at them as they spoke. Their words were making her realise how many people care about her. Not everyone hates her.

"You could be feeling down one moment, and then the next moment it turns around. And you never know when your just going to have the happiest day of your life or the saddest day. It will get better, I promise!"

She looked at them with tears rolling down her cheeks. They smiled at her. Their smiles melted her heart. She wiped away her tears and smiled at them. "Thank you, but I don't think anyone would understand what I'm going through! I know that people say that they do, but they don't! They pretend to understand so it makes me feel better. But I'd rather be told that they don't understand what I'm going through, than being lied to!"

"Mia, we know what you're going through!" The first twin said. She's pretty sure it was Ethan. "The same thing happened to us! It still does! We have been bullied our entire lives, and we have no idea why! We were just kids trying to make friends... but no one wanted to be friends with us. It was just us, and then everyone else."

"Yeah. I wanna thank God for giving me Ethan because without him, I'd probably have zero friends... because we are each other's best friend, and at times, each other's only friend" Grayson said. He put an arm around his brother and smiled at Mia. She smiled at them. Maybe she wasn't alone after all.

Will she finally have the happy ending she always dreamed of? Or will her dreams be destroyed?
