chapter twelve; p.o.v of charlotte

{ONE MONTH LATER}

8:00 a.m

I was sitting down in Richie's car, as we drove on to a shopping mall. Why I agreed to be up this early on a Saturday? I had no clue. I guess he was one of those people I made certain exceptions for. It has been officially one month since me, and Gareth talked to each other. As much as I didn't want to admit it, I truly missed him. A lot.

"You're so silent." Richie beamed.

"What's there to say?" I said smiling, as he laughed.

We continued to sit, in a comfortable silence. Shortly I noticed that we passed the mall.

"Rich-you just passed the mall?!" I said clearly confused.

"Change of plans. I have somewhere else to take you."

"Okay.." I said analyzing him.

He chuckled, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Because, I'm finding you very sketchy."

"Okay darling, come on." he smiled.

Well; he's never said that before. Ever since Richie and I have been hanging out, he's acted differently, and said rather stranger things than usual.

"Darling?" I asked innocently.

He smiled, "I say that to all my female friends."

"Not to me."

"Yes."

"Okay."

I stopped asking questions, even though I didn't believe a word he said. We continued to sit in silence, letting my mind wander. I continued to ponder the situation between me and Gareth, once more. We didn't even say a word to each other before, during, and after the photo shoots. It was a little weird sometimes, but I had gotten used to it more or less.

"We're here." he said briskly.

"Finally." I groaned.

We got out of the car and began walking. I was rather silent, and I could tell that it bothered him. I felt horrible for being so quiet, and not talking much; then again, I'm not a very social person. Plus, I couldn't help it. I was thinking of course, about the issue between me, and Gareth. It's crazy how much I thought about someone who wouldn't even waste one second to think about me.

"Come on slow poke." he teased.

"Says, you," I giggled, playfully pushing him, "I'm ahead of you."

We kept on walking along until we finally got to a beautiful cafe.

We sat down at a table outside, just when his phone started blaring.

"One second, sorry." he said hurriedly.

"It's alright. Take your time. I'll wait." I stated.

I let him take his phone call, while I looked around.

"Very nice..." I mumbled to myself.

"What do you mean?" I heard Richie say, seeming concerned, "I can't though.." he sighed.

I felt bad, having to see him so upset about something.

"But..." he trailed, "Okay...fine. I'm on my way.."

"What's wrong?" I asked cautiously.

"I had something important to tell you, and ask you but...turns out I'm needed elsewhere.." he sighed, "and I don't have a choice."
