Yukina

I was told long ago that the sun sets faster when there's fear in the air. The tension scares the sun into hiding, awaking the fierce moonlight.

When I was young I would sit out on my lawn and watch the sun set. If it seemed all too quick, I would sing lullabies to the world hoping the sun would be at ease.

Though as I grew older and more aware of my surroundings, I found that I was being foolish.

The sun isn't hiding from the moon. It's luring it into a trap, twilight. It awaits it's presence before disguising itself behind the earth. When the time comes, the sun attacks from behind feasting on the psyche of the poor moon.

A solar eclipse.

As I walked the streets in the afternoon the sun danced on the horizon singing it's song of temptation. A melody that drowns humans in a feelin of tiredness.

There are some things that normal people cannot see in this world. They lurk in the shadows. They present themselves front and center.

What keeps those from noticing, is the fear of acceptance. They don't want to believe that such things exist, for that would cause havoc, chaos, madness.

So they grow oblivious to it all. But every once in a while, there's one human that can see the unseen. The silhouettes in the night. The howls at sundown.

Sights unknown to man.

Vampires. At first glance they seem normal. Then the facáde fades. The darkness swirling around begins to spread, to grow out of control.

As their curiosity peaks they become more visible. Their piercing eyes and ravenous aura. A hunger than cannot ever be filled. They watch you, stalk you, and eventually prey on you.

Though of every vampire I've been in contact with, they act as if I'm not human. They have no interest in me. I'm merely an illusion to them. A fake temptation.

I often wonder, just what do they see?
