Chapter 1
I was woken by the sound of something smashing. Oh no, my dad must have woken up. The sound of loud, slow footsteps were getting louder as my dad staggered up the stairs towards my bedroom. I pulled the duvets up close to my face and the door swung open. My dad stood in the doorway, he looked like a monster. His face was drenched in sweat, his brown hair clinging to his forehead. An evil smirk was spread over his red face revealing yellowish, coffee stained teeth.
"Hello, my baby girl!" He slurred. He dragged himself over to my bed, stumbling on the way. I brought the covers over my face, I was shaking all over and my heart was drumming hard against my chest. The covers were yanked out of my grip and my dad brought his face close to mine. The stench of alcohol filled my nostrils.
"Please don't hurt me." I said helplessly, my voice barely a whisper.
"What was that?" His voice was soft which scared me. I said nothing,
"If I ask you a question you will answer me you stupid little brat!" He slapped me hard across the face.
"I'm sorry daddy!" my voice came out cracked as I swallowed back tears. I was grabbed by my ankles, pulled out of bed and onto the floor.
"I'll teach you a lesson or two!" My dad kicked me in the side and sent a flurry of fists at my face and all over my back. Blood was dripping from my nose and my lip had split in the same place as last time.
'I'm going out for a drink." He grunted. And with that he left me curled up on the floor, bleeding and covered in bruises. His footsteps faded and I heard the front door slam shut. I let out a scream and tears streamed down my cheeks. I had had enough, I wasn't going to put up with this anymore. I picked my self up off the floor and headed to the bathroom. I quickly washed the blood off my face and fixed my hair so I looked a little more human. Then I went back to my room and gathered my bags from under the bed. They had been packed for a while as that wasn't the first time I had thought of running away.
In the kitchen I found some bread and cheese which I quickly made into some sandwiches. I grabbed three bottles of water and put then in my bag too.
I was ready.
Another tear ran down my cheek as I caught sight of the picture of me my mum and my dad four years ago. When my mum died when I was nine my dad was distraught. Everyday he mourned for his wife. That's why he began to drink. He drank and beat me every night. But I wasn't having it anymore. I was thirteen. I could do this.
"Goodbye." I whispered as I stepped out of the house. I closed the door behind me and set of into the night. Where to? I had no idea. Anywhere away from my houses where my dad would arrive home drunk and beat me till I bled.
I walked for about half an hour. My eyes were growing heavy and my steps were getting slower. I looked around. Where am I? I thought to myself. None of my surroundings looked familiar to me. I spotted a section on the path, it was in a dark little corner that was sheltered from rain. That will do. I opened my bag and took out my sleeping bag that I used to use when I went camping. I put my bag inside the sleeping bag with me so it was more difficult for anyone to steal it. A yawn left my mouth and in an instant I was asleep.
So yeaahhh.... There's the first chapter for u! I know it's really bad but cut me some slack, I'm probably a lot younger than u guys! Anyway I will try to update every night if possible, soz if I don't. Byyeeee
