Chapter 4

Abigail's pov:

I finished my pasta quite quickly as I was starving. After that I washed up my bowl and looked over at the clock. 11:15am. Only?! Well I suppose that's about right... It was quite early when Janet picked me up off the streets.

I didn't know where Janet had gone and didn't know what to do. After a bit of thinking I decided on giving myself a tour of the house. I wondered around the first floor and found myself in the living room. In there was a sofa, an arm chair, a telly and a cabinet full of photos and ornaments. I looked at a few of the photos for a while. One of them was black and white of a little girl, a man and a woman; Janet and her parents was my guess. Another was in colour it was of Janet and two children: a boy and a girl. Were they her grandchildren? Did she even have any?

I moved on from the living room and found another door, I opened it and it was only a toilet and basin. I closed the door again and went upstairs. I already knew that one of the doors lead to the bathroom so I looked in the one nearest to me. In this room was a wardrobe, a bed and a bedside table. Probably a spare room. Then I went into the next room. Aha this was Janet's room. There was a chair by the door and it was covered in clothes. Also in the room was a double bed, a mirror, a walk-in wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The fourth door wasn't interesting at all, I was a broom cupboard. There was a mop and mop bucket, a broom and lots of pipes at the back. I went back downstairs and looked at the clock again, 11:25am it read. Where on earth had Janet got to? Just then I heard creaking coming form upstairs. I ran up the stairs again and the door to the bathroom opened. Oh! I forgot I didn't look in that room did I?

"Oh hello Abigail, darling. What have you been getting up to then? Did you finish your pasta?"

"Yes, I washed up the bowl it's in the sink. And I gave myself a tour of the house!" I said.

"Oh well done dear! I need to go and send some clothes back to the shops, would you like to come? Maybe we could get you some new clothes?" She suggested.

"Ooo yes please!" I said in reply, I really needed to get some new clothes most of the clothes I owned were blood stained and ripped.

"Alrighty then! Go get your shoes on and wait in the kitchen, I just need to put my makeup on." She said. I nodded my head and went to put on my dirty, old, white plimsoles. Well, they weren't really white anymore, they were more of a brownish- grey. I needed to get some new shoes too. Soon, Janet came down and put her shoes on with a shoe horn. She picked up her bag and nodded towards the door, signalling for me to go outside. I opened the door and held it open for the old lady to walk through before going through myself and closing it behind me.
