We ate lunch, I mean dinner, then we got up and Teddy said that he needed to go 'grab something'. And that I couldn't come with him because it was a 'surprise'. I sat there at the bench waiting, sipping my soda. I heard something move near the stage at the front of the room. That's when I remembered that I never asked WHY Teddy was here. Or what this place was or anything.

"I assumed that he was caught up in the storm." I whispered.

Something moved across the stage again. Whatever it was, it wasn't much taller than me. But it was fast.

"Teddy? Is that you?" I said as I got up.

The lights flickered on and pointed down at the stage. On it was a set of drums, a guitar, and several microphones.

"Very funny Teddy. Come on. Ha, ha, Teddy?" I said walking towards the stage.

It was quite then. Nothing happened, I could hear my heart hammering in my throat. The lights flickered a bit, but other than that, nothing happened.

"Teddy? Teddy if that's you, this isn't funny." I dropped my voice down to barely half a whisper, "Stop it, Teddy your scaring me."

Still nothing. Eventually I calmed down enough to walk up on the stage. There was an imprint on the drums that read 'Freddy's Fuzzy Band'. I looked down at the guitar and picked it up. I strummed it a few times to see

see if it was in tone. Absentmindedly I started to play 'Stereo Heart'.

I played until I was half way through the song. I saw something moving again. But this time it was near one of the tables. This time though I caught a glimpse of it. It looked like, I know this sounds crazy, but a fox. A fox standing on two legs not much taller than me. I think its paw was broken, because it curved into a hook shape.

"Hello?" I asked again for the millionth time that day.

"Keep playing, lassie, I like that song." A raspy, terrible Scottish accented voice called back.

I played the last few verses of the song.

"Oh, oh, oh, oh, so sing along to my stereo." I sang.

I looked up, trying to see if anyone was still there. And I did. In the far corner of the room where Teddy and I ate. I saw the fox figure.

"Very nice Lassie. It's good to hear something than the songs our parents have been playing since 1987." The Scottish voice said.

"Thank you, I've been listening to it ever since it came out." I said smiling a bit.

"Is that you Teddy?" I asked.

"No, Lassie, Teddy is busy." the figure said standing up.

"Well then whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?" I asked.

The figure shifted a bit then stood up. A young boy, no more than 15, stepped into the light. He had beautiful orange hair, and was wearing a pirate costume. And what I thought was a broken paw was a silver hook, that seemed to gleam. Even in the dim light. He had an eye patch that covered his left eye, and fox ears, almost like Teddy's bear ones.

"I'm Tricksey. Please to meet you." He said extending his hook.

 I shook his hand. . . I mean hook.

"First time a lady like your self didn't run from me. Much less shake my hook." Tricksey said.

"My name is Catherine. I just want a few answers." I said.

"I would like some questions." He replied smiling.

"What is this place?"

"Freddy's Pizzeria. We used to celebrate kids' birthdays up here."
