Harry’s POV:
Well it’s finally Saturday. Thank goodness! I was on my way to the tattoo parlor to get a new tattoo. That’s probably the best way I know how to spend my Saturday. Well other than spending the day with the most beautiful girl in school but that’s never going to happen. I walked into the shop and saw Mike my tattoo artist. He signaled me to come over to one of the chairs in his back room. I was running a little late so I guess he was waiting for me. Once I stepped in the room I took off my shirt. I was getting this one on my chest. Right below my left collarbone, there was a little bit of space there.
One thing I really like about Mike is that he never asks the questions that I know he wants to so badly. I know he doesn’t know it but it means a lot to me. I reached into my back pocket and took out the sketch of a spider web I had done last night on tracing paper.
After an hour or so I was all done and inked. There was a white cloth tapped to my chest over my newest design. I was so happy with my lovely new edition but I’ve never been unhappy with any of Mike’s work. I paid Mike and left the tattoo shop in a hurry I was running late to get back home because I thought that was going to be shorter. I ran in the direction of my house down the sidewalk of the not so busy street. I glanced down at my watch that I got at the dollar store. Oh lord, I was really running late this isn’t going to be good.
I looked back up from my watch just before crashing into a body that was much smaller than my own. I caught the arms of the small person before either of us hit the ground. We both managed to stay standing although I hit the petite body pretty hard. “Harry?” A soft sweet voice said my name. I looked down to meet two beautiful sparkling eyes. My breath hitched she looks so beautiful. Oh god I just realized this is the second time this week I almost took her out. “Uh… y-yeah. H-Hi. I’m so sorry-y for bumping into you.” I stuttered.
She giggled making her freckled nose crinkle up. She is adorable. “But, you also caught me so you’re forgiven.” She giggled again. “Oh uh yeah I guess…” I blushed. “I was just on my way to go meet some of my friends at Starbucks.” She softly spoke almost whispering. I felt kind of awkward mainly because I don’t have friends and I have no idea what that must be like ‘meeting up with friends’ it must be nice, to have someone to talk to and hang out with.
I heard her infectious giggle again and suddenly her gloved thumbs were wiping under my eyes. “W-what are you doing?” I asked trying not to blush but not having much control over it. “Your eyeliner smudged.” She giggled. I couldn’t help but smile and laugh with her too. I mean how could you not she was fixing my makeup.
“Aren’t you freezing?” She asked shivering in her big warm black coat. I looked down at my black t-shirt. It was late November I can’t blame her for being curious and yeah I was freezing but I wasn’t about to tell her that. “Nah! I’m fine I love the winter weather.” I lied through my teeth. She laughed and shook her head at my comment like what I just said was absolutely crazy. I suddenly remember running off on her the other day and how I felt awful about it and how I really wanted to apologize so I figured now is a great time to.
“By the way I’m so sorry for just running off on you the other day and not really letting you talk. I just kind of ran off and that wasn’t nice I really wanted to say ‘yes’ too but um I just uh had… obligations.” I spoke truthfully.
“Oh Harry. It’s fine!” She said touching my arm comfortingly. I would have thought it was really sweet and had a mini hard attack if I wasn’t injured in that very spot. I moved away from her arm trying to avoid pain. Hurt flashed across her face but she quickly smiled to try and hide it but I knew that she was wearing a fake smile. I have watched her from a far for years, I know what it looks like when she is hurt and when she is trying to hide it.
“It’s really not fine. And I am sorry… really.” I stated bravely. She nods even though I know she isn’t convinced that I did something wrong. But I did and I know that, you don’t just run off on a lady, my mother taught me much better than that and I am ashamed I did that the other day. I just wish she would accept my apology. I suddenly remember that I really have got to go. I must be really late now if I was running late minutes ago. “It was nice talking to you. But, I really have to go.” I said while walking backwards in the direction of my house.
“Harry wait! Can we hang out sometime? Or… or would you like to come to Starbucks with me now?” She asked following me while I was obviously trying to get away. “Um no thank you.” I say and then take off running in the direction of my house. I waved at her while running screaming a bye and her name and another sorry. I feel so bad. This is twice this week I crashed into her and twice this week I ran off on her in mid conversation and let’s not forget WHILE SHE WANTED TO HANG OUT WITH ME. I feel so stupid and so bad but I have to get home. I hope that one day we can hang out together… I really do hope so.
