Celine's P.O.V.

Sixth period sucks.

I'm stuck in the most boring class ever, with the worst people in my grade. And what sucks even more is that it's right before lunch. So everyone is extra cranky because they don't have any food in their stomach. And with no food in their stomach, they have less fuel to the brain to actually make them think straight. Because right now, everyone is complaining and talking about their weekend, when they should be doing their class work. They're even starting to make me cranky, which usually happens this period as well.

"Hey Celine!" A voice shouts from the other side of the room. I slowly turn my head up and look at the person who called my name. For an instant, I hope it is Roan, and I have no idea why I hope that. But I release that thought when I remember I don't have Social Studies with him. And because Roan's voice is a lot deeper. Also, this person is completely opposite of Roan. It's Brian Revor. The laziest, most uncooperative person I have ever met.

"Yeah?" I ask, hoping he won't ask anything in return and that I just heard wrong. But he did reply.

"What did you get for number 7, 8, 9, 10?"

He asks me this every. Fucking. Day. Also, we have to answer questions 7 - 16 and I am currently on number 11. What number is he on? Oh yeah, only fucking seven. Why in the world did I get put in the same class as him?

"Figure it out yourself," I snapped.

"Ooh feisty!" he replied in a flirtatious tone. Ugh. Like heaven itself, the bell rang. I smirked at him as I rapidly gathered my things and headed out the door, to then bump into someone.

"I'm so sorry!" I said as I bent down to get their books for them.

"It's fine." I looked up at who it was and immidiately smiled. Again?

I ran into Lacey. This happens all the time actually. It's quite hilarious.

"This happens all the time to us," I replied, and put the books in her hands, to then get my books scattered across the floor.

"Maybe it's because you are always rushing to get out of that class while I am rushing to get to my locker." she laughed and started to walk to her locker. You see, she is obsessed with candy and food but still remains a little twig. She reminds me a lot of a stick bug. Tall, skinny and tan with long black curly hair that is always tied up. But that's just crazy her. I'd never want her to change.

I turn and walk to my locker which is down at the other end of the hallway, considering her last name starts with a C and mine starts with a S.

"Celine!" Yet another person calling my name. But this time it was my best friend Aria.

"Hey Ari," I call back.

"Where were you this morning?"

"I kinda tripped up the stairs and was late to school so," I explained very vaguely as I slammed my locker closed and locked it. "How was your morning?"

She gives me a little shrug but says, "Normal." And I guess it is because I am hungry, but the way she says that pisses me off a bit. I mean, when you think about the term 'best friends', you think of the two people who tell each other close to everything and that love each other to death. I mean, a couple of months ago our friendship was like that a bit; we loved each other to death. Now, I'm lucky if I can get her to smile. It's insane how many hours I spent trying to figure out if I did something wrong. And it still remains a mystery they may forever go unsolved.

When we get to the cafeteria, the rest of our table is just getting there too. Lacey, Angelina, Brooke, Mary, Katherine, Jillian, Mia, and Charlotte were all occupied in their own conversations. Jillian was doing her usual; she was drawing something that she thought was terrible (In all seriousness, her artwork is better than anything ever). Katherine was reading a new book of a new series like she always does. Mary was talking about her new boyfriend, Jeremy, that she has liked since 8th grade. And everyone else was screaming an flailing their arms around because Lacey stole someone's food. Typical Lacey. Aria and I sat down in our spots and took out our lunches, but then, out of all these normal things that happened, I felt a tap on my shoulder.

Lacey, who was sitting across from me, stopped eating the stolen food, looked at me, and wiggled her eyebrows. And just with that simple move, I knew exactly who it is.

"Hey Roan," I say, surprising him as I turned around and stood up to meet his face.

"Hey..um...I just thought I'm formally introduce myself." He cleared his throat, and gave me a little smirk/ smile that for some reason made my stomach do a flip. What the fuck I kit met him? "I'm Roan Daerc," he smiled as he held out his hand for me to shake. I took his hand and shook it politely.

"And I'm Celine Skare," I replied as I took my hand back. And even though I was facing him, I could feel everyone behind me smiling and preparing to bombard me with questions.

"Well...um...I'll let you get back to your lunch. Cya around." he smiled and turned to walk away.

"Cya," I smiled back and turned around to find half of the table staring at me. Lacey was wiggling her eyebrows and I just rolled my eyes in return as I sat down. He's so awkward but it is actually kind of maybe a bit sort of ish cute.

"Soooooooo, is that your boyfriend," Lacey asked.

I shook my head with a slight smile and continued to eat my sandwich. "No," I mumbled, feeling my face grow hot. What the... Now why amacting so awkward? I DON'T EVEN KNOW HIM.

"Ooooooo!" Lacey, Angelina and Aria all squealed. Ugh.

"Oh shhh!" I replied, refusing to make eye contact because I knew if I did, I would have to think about everything that just happened even more than I already am. Even though Lacey brought it up by asking if he was my boyfriend, and by being awkward. I didn't think about it that deeply. Just directed my thought process to something else so I wouldn't smile out of nowhere in front of my friends. Which I ultimately failed at. And I know, from this day on, Roan will always find a way to slip into my mind.

And I am so not ready for that right now.
