The One that Got Away

It's Time

                       It was the last day tile spring break. I had to do something, like ask Cierra out, but just can't. That day, I watched her from my seat. I was still paying attention, but i just couldn't take my eyes off of her. At recess I didn't hang out with her. I hung out with my other friends, the brotatoes. Pretty cool name for an awesome club. 

                           Then came lunch. 

                          I had nothing to do except for to walk around to think of what to do. So I looked and thought of what to do and I saw Cierra, Bethany, and Yearly, another one of Cierra's friends, all talk about at the baseball field. I went up to talk to them.

                                The moment they saw me, then ran fast away from me. I started running after them, but got lazy and fell to the ground. I waited for them to come back. I waited for a good two minutes. When they finally came back, thank god, I asked," Why did you guys run away from me?" They stayed quite for a moment. Then Bethany spoke up," We were just talking about girl stuff." "What kind of 'girl stuff'. " I asked. 

                                Yearly, who I hadn't expected, spoke up and said, " We were talking about who Cierra liked." I was shocked at first, but then, I thought if it was me I could ask her out! I stayed calm and asked, " Who do you like Cierra? She stayed quite. I got up from where I was sitting, and asked," who do you like?" This time I looked at her face. With her head held down, she went be hind me and sat down. I turned to face her and before I could ask her again, Bethany said," You! She likes you Anthony."

                                 Yessssss!!!!!! She likes me!!. I was so excited. And then Bethany and Yearly said, " She wants to ask you out." Not knowing what to say, I said," Well then ask me." Very timid she said,"The guy's suppose to ask the girl." I felt stupid.

                                I took a deep breath and said,finally, "Cierra.... Will you go out with me?" I waited for her response. I waited just a little longer and she said," I have to think about it."

                                  What?!?!?!? I wait this long to ask you out and she said 'I have to think about it.' Calmly, I said,"OK. I can wait." I was A little mad. Then we  had to go to class. As we went to class Cierra came up to me and said," I'm really sorry to say this...... but I just can't. I'm sorry. Maybe if you ask me later this year, I'll maybe say yes." " Oh that's ok. Really, I wasn't allowed to have a girl friend anyways." But I really did want one, and especially her. "Cool. Can we still be friends Anthony." "Yeah. Yeah we can Cierra."

                                    The end of the day was bad. I was really bummed out that she didn't say yes. Next time will be better though, but the next time is when she's leaving for middle school for sixth grade. I'll miss my shout if I don't ask her before she leaves.
