We stood there looking in the mirror for a while. I'm not going to lie, we look badass, we looked as if we just stepped out of a comic book. I smiled at my joke and Chloe broke my attention.

"Is anyone thinking what I'm thinking?" She questions.

Sean nodded. "Yeah, we should be on the roof scanning the area."

I ignore Sean and his paranoia and grin at Chloe. "We look badass."

Sean rolled his eyes and dragged us away from the mirror. We started at the stairs. It wasn't that far up but it was still a bit of a climb, we finally reached the roof and walked outside. We could see the all around the city from here.

We stared down for a while, staring at the walking corpses that littered the broken city.

Sean patted my shoulder. "You keep watch up here. Chloe and I are gonna go check the rest of the place out."

I nodded and watched Chloe and Sean disappear down the stairway. Chloe suddenly appeared beside me and headed me a rifle.

"Here, use this to see." She passed me the sniper. I nodded and she ran back down the stairs.

I searched around using my eyes since scopes irritate me, just like regular guns. After a while I noticed most of the freaks were fleeing to the street closest to the department store.

I peered through the scope. Six figures were sprinting down the side of the street.

People? Were they people?

Yes! They were people. I dropped the rifle and sprinted down the steps. I ran past our floor to the bottom.

I got outside just in time, they were about to pass our store. "HEY! OVER HERE!" I shout.

They all looked my way in surprise and sprinted towards me. They ducked inside as I quickly shut the door behind us.

I kept my sword out as I watch the new strangers. A few corpses banged on the glass outside, but they'd give up in a moment one they realize it was useless.

"Who are you?" I question them instently.

A slim white boy spoke up with thick black hair sticking out underneath a baseball cap. "Who are you?" He shot back.

I let out a cold laugh. "Shouldn't you be nice to the women who saved your ass?"

A redneck looking man stood up straight from his lean position and looked towards me. "Like the way you think blondie, names Jon. " He grunted.

"I'm Steven." The white man said.

The other four people; Jackie, Morales, T-Dog, and some blonde who I didn't catch her name, introduced themselves one after the other.

Once their little introduction was over, I reminded myself that people are different now. I couldn't trust them, yet anyway.

"So now that I know your names, why are you here?" I asked icily.

Morales sighed and looked me in the eye with a strong gaze. "We were getting supplies for our group when we got stuck in the store. The geeks were starting to surround and we made a break for it.

"I see." I simply replied.

"Who are you?" The blonde blurted out suddenly, curiosity getting the better of her. I think her name was Angeliea or something. I reach for my knife at my hip and played with it in my hand, doing tricks with it just to scared hera little.

"Andrea." Morales coughed a warning tone.

Ah. That was her name. Andrea eyes my knife and shrunk back a little, to be closer to her companions.

I smile, knowing she was easily scared. "My name is Paige Key, if you don't mind I would like for you to meet my companions?"

Steven nodded and I spun on my heels. We trekked up the stairs in single order. We almost reached our floor when heard Sean's angry voice flooding the hallway. I made a stop motion hoping the obey. "Where the hell could she could have went?" I heard Chloe.

I laugh and stroll into the room. "Just the usual, saving peoples lives." I grinned.

Sean eyed me with confusion as Chloe heaved a heavy sigh.

"Where did you go? You cant just leave whenever you feel like." Sean snapped at me.

I roll my eyes and made a whistling noise. slowly the group piled in after, me looking a little terrified of Sean's booming voice.

"Who the hell are they?" Chloe yelled.

I smirked and motioned to the group. "They are the group I found. Like I said, I was out saving lives."

I pointed to the individuals and named them off. "Steven, Morales, T-Dog, Andrea, Jackie, and Jon. I saved their lives, so they owe us."

Jon laughed coldly and crossed his arms. "we owe you nothin." He spat. I quickly spun around on him and held my knife inches from his face.

"Watch this Jon, wouldn't wanna die from a little cut in your neck, would you?" I snapped.

He stared back at me like he wasn't the least bit of terrified. I slowly pulled the knife away, keeping it in my hand.

Morales explained their story once again while I glared at Jon.

When he finished explaining, Chloe and Sean seemed to soften a bit.

We took them upstairs onto the roof, just because Sean was once again worried about the perimeter.

I sat down in a comfortable position on the concrete while the group slowly create a semi circle.

"We have to get back to our camp." Andrea stated, clearly worried about something.

"Where you set up?" Sean asked curiously.

Jon laughed and spoke up. "You think we're crazy enough to just tell you where all out supplies are, did ya?"

I roll my eyes at Jon's negative attitude and looked up at Morales.

"So you guys just gonna stick around until the freaks calm down a bit?" I asked.

"Guess so." Morales agreed.

Then Steven and T-Dog ran up the stairs carrying some police armor. "Look guys!" Steven clearly happy from his find. Jon rolled his eyes and his gaze wandered around until it landed in Andrea's semi exposed chest.

I nudged her with my foot, and her head snapped at me annoyed. Then I nodded to Jon and she pulled her shirt up before giving me a apologtic nod. Jon sneered at me but I could care less about what an asshole thought of me. Jackie plopped down on the concrete beside me as if she was exhausted.

Poor woman probably was hell everyone in this group looked like they haven't slept in days.

I shifted my gaze so I looked up at the sky, the clouds were starting to cover the beautiful blue of the sky, but I could still see the sun.

It was in the middle of the sky, it must be around noon. My stomach started to growl and I rubbed my hand over it hoping it would shut up.

Andrea seemed to notice and dug through her bag. She pulled out a pack of jerky. My eyes widened in surprise as she handed it to me.

I shook my head. "I can't take your food."

She frowned and dropped the jerky on my lap. "By the looks of it, you haven't eaten in days."

I lick my lips and smiled at her thankfully. I gobbled down the food. The growling of my stomach finally seized and I smiled gratefully at Andrea.

Jon stared at me with his mouth cracked open a bit. "Damn blondie can eat."

The faint moans from below suddenly picked up in noise and I frowned, looking around. The group seemed to notice it as well.

I stood and peered over the side of the building. I looked down the street to see a man on a horse, near the tank that's in the middle of the road that the military was using earlier when this tragic accident has started.

"Hey guys, look at this!" I yelled.
