Shattered drums
Perforated by cordite crack.
Snaps wandering minds back,
Like slack rope snaps necks
Family left vexed;
Earth shattering effect.
No internal conflict.
Mystery, thick as brick,
Leaves mother
With no explanation
For any of this.
Parents blessed with God's grace—
Father, stoned faced
Under fire, placid
Confusion, no trace of ire.
Friends
Offer casual condolences,
Searching for words,
Hoping no one's utterances, are
the Unspeakable
