Eventually it's lunch, which means it's time to try and talk to Marisol. I get my lunch from the lunch lady and sit in my normal seat. I make sure to save a seat for her.

"Hey girl!" my friend Ashleigh exclaimed and sat at her usual spot across from me.

"Hi," I replied, obviously distracted, "Have you seen the new girl?"

"No, I haven't. What's her name?"

"Marisol, she's from Connecticut. You're about to see her, because I'm inviting her to sit with us," I said.

She looked like she was struggling to find a seat even though she kept her smile going. I waved at her, almost standing to catch her attention. I'm not short, I'm fun sized! She saw me waving, so she acknowledged that she saw me so I could stop making a fool out of myself, and came over.

"Hey Kangaroo Girl!" Marisol said as she took a seat beside me. I rolled my eyes in disgust. She put her tray down and picked up an apple.

"Kangaroo Girl?" Ashleigh asked, obviously confused.

"I got a kangaroo for the animal project for Mr. Page," I explained, giving Marisol the stink eye. Marisol's mouth was filled with apple, so she almost choked at my comment trying to laugh.

"My name is Jen," I said to Marisol, looking at how messy we was with disgust.

"I think I'm going to stick with Kangaroo girl," she said with a mischievous smile thankfully, after she swallowed. I rolled my eyes again. This was the girl who's future I can predict?

"I'll be right back, I'm going to go get a cookie from the snack cart," said Ashleigh as she slowly sat up. I watched as she walked away, blonde hair swaying back and forth, back and forth...

"So, Marisol, I have something to tell you..." I said, snapping out of my gaze.

"You can what?" she asked me, looking at me like I had three eyes.

"All I want to know is did you get the same for me?" I asked, trying to keep myself from losing my patience. She looked at me like I was crazy.

"If you can predict my future then wouldn't you know?"

"No, I don't now just answer my question."

I looked at her with a serious expression.

"Hey, sorry I took so long, the person in front of me ordered like 400 cookies. There was only one left for me. I hope it wasn't awkward," Ashleigh said, sitting back down.

Leave it to Ashleigh to come back at the worst possible time.

"I think I'm going to go to the library, see you later," Marisol said. She got up from her seat and left.

I looked at Ashleigh with a very angry expression.

"What?" she asked, totally clueless.
