“You have got to be kidding me. . . BRANDY! Learn to pick up your phone! Call me back! The trip is in less then a week and I bet you haven’t even started packing! Ugh. Whatever!” Elizabeth hung up the phone in a panic. She raced down the hall her blonde hair turning back to black she stopped at the laundry room door, “Mom? Can you stick this in with the next load? I need it for Thursday.” She handed her mother a pair of jeans with holes running up the sides.
“Do you want to impress this boy with your personality or have him stare at your legs the whole time? Quite frankly dear I am not stupid I know what is going to happen on this trip but is that nessicary? I know you’re a bit nervous but is going to be below freezing at this time of year in England.”
“Mom, can it fit in the next load?” Her mom was right though. She was nervous. She had no reason to feel nervous around John but the fact that they were going to finally meet was still a big deal.
“Yes” Elizabeth threw the jeans at the hamper and walked to the end of the hall. She felt her phone vibrating in her back pocket. It was John asking to Skype. She responded and started to pull out her lap top. She pulled up the chat and called.
“Hey hun,” she said in an innocent I need to vent way.
“What’s wrong?”
“Brandy, she never keeps her phone on her and keeps procrastinating on packing. If she misses the flight I am gonna kill her!” Elizabeth loves Brandy but the way she talks about her to John he doesn’t even understand why she is coming on the trip half the time.
“Calm down sweetie Just keep thinking this time Friday you and I will be sitting on my couch watching movies and crying a lot.”
“Call dibs on Divergent first!” They both said at the same time. They laughed. John was in her eyes perfect. The kind of guy that makes a girl go asdfghjkl. From what she has seen of him he has brown hair that you have to keep flipping to keep it out of your face and big beautiful brown that always look innocent. He has a few freckles on his right cheek and basically clear skin. When he is upset with her though he gets a huge crease in his forehead. He has the tinniest nose ever and when his nostrils flare he looks adorable.
Once their conversation ended Brandy finally called back. Elizabeth grabbed her phone from her night stand and answered it. “About time you answered I was freaking out!”
“Liz calm down I know you’re upset. I am sorry my phone died! Anyways what did you need?”
“You still have my blue top right?” Elizabeth was furious. Ever since Brandy started seeing Nick her phone has been dead.
“Um yeah I am wearing it why?” Brandy could tell Elizabeth was freaking out and decided then that she had to the sane one of the two of them. She knew that Elizabeth had been dying to see John since the first time they messaged each other in a relationship or not. Every day she would tell Brandy the new discussion that went on between them. Brandy never thought that they would be dating though. I mean he lives in England we live in South Carolina she would think nothing could never happen we are only 17. Well now they were 22 and John and Elizabeth were in love. Though they had never met face to face or even kissed the love they had for each other was so pure that none of that mattered. If Brandy trusts him he is good.
“I need it for the trip,” Elizabeth said in a winey voice.
“Alright it will be ready for you tomorrow.”
“Ok. Talk to you later?”
“Yeah. . . Can you believe you are going to finally see John? Only 3 days you know!” Brandy tried to change the subject.
