SMACK! I take off towards first base, the first base coach is yelling "Go two, Go two." Sprinting to two I already know that the third base coach is yelling at me to get to three and round it. As I round three I KNOW I can make it. So I go and the other team never saw it coming but my team/town knew I would. As I go to home plate the pitcher is just catching the ball. It's going to be close. I slide into home right when the catcher tags me.
"Safe," yells the ump. It's because she dropped the ball because she hurried the pitchers throw and her catch.
ANOTHER homer. And that would be my fifth one tonight. Although I can't say I'm surprised. Normally I get one every time I go up to bat if the coach says 'Dab It'. If not I simmer down and hit a normal double or triple but sometimes I just hit a single.
Eventually they get three outs so we take the field. I play anywhere but I'm mainly third baseman. Getting in my ready position our pitcher and my best friend Kaily is starting her windup my other best friend our catcher Brianna or Brie moves to the inside. That was the mistake. This batter loves and I mean LOVES inside pitches. She hits it. It's a line drive straight to me. I catch it as if it was nothing and quickly throw it to first. She catches it and still has time to throw it to second and get the out. So she does. Three outs in one play. Never saw that happen before!
They come over to me and put me on their shoulders yelling " we won and Gale is our champion."
Oh, I forgot to tell you but this was state championship.
We win again 28-6.
And we are undefeated.
