"Okay guys lets get start the game shall we?"Corey happily goes to the closet to get it.
*Buzz* the door sound goes off and Riley rushes to push the button.
"What's going on? Who's here?" Corey puts the game on the table.
"Maya,Lucas and Farkle. I invited them for family game night."She shrugs.
"Riley you can't invite your friends to family game night. You see? The word is family. Not friends." Corey follows her.
"But dad my friends are a big part of my life. You of all people should understand that."Riley walks to the door and opens it.
"Howdy Mr. Matthews."Lucas smiles.
Corey glares at him. "You make me sick!"
"Cmon Corey stop being a baby and set up the board."Topanga walks over to Riley and her friends.
"Welcome to family game night. Come sit." She points to the couch.
Lucas, farkle, and Maya sit down.
"What game are we playing?" Maya looks at Riley.
"We are going to play the long game."She reads the box.
"Let me guess. It's a really long game?" Lucas jokes.
Everyone goes silent and stares blankly at him.
"Okay I'll shut up!"He exclaims.
"Who else is playing?"Farkle asks.
The door opens and Josh walks in.
"My brotha!"
Corey looks at him. "My brothaa!"
Maya shifts in her seat. She feels uncomfortable about the other day.
Riley notices and pats her shoulder. "Maya relax. Don't let what happened get to you. If anything, make him see that your still trying and maybe he'll get annoyed." She chuckles.
Maya smirks, "your right."
"Okay, let's pick partners." Farkle looks around.
"I could pick you."Maya looks at Corey with disappointment. "Or I could pick you." She looks at Josh happily.
"You represent homework, no fun." She looks back at Corey.
"While you are so handsome it kind of makes my eyes hurt."she flirts.
Auggie goes up to Josh. "Would you be on my team uncle Josh?"
"Try and stop me."He smiles
"Okay I'll stop you, your on my team." Maya grabs his hand.
"He's my uncle!" Auggie whines.
"He's my husband!"she pulls him to her.
"Congratulations." Auggie sits down.
Josh's eyes widen not knowing what to say or do. "Uhh I'll be the host." He walks away and grabs the box, reading the instructions out loud.
Hours later past and the game is almost to a finish.
Josh stands up and pretends like he has a microphone in his hands.
"Well birds are chirping, sounds of a sleepy city are coming to life as the sun peeks it's smiling face." He walks towards Maya and she smiles in her sleep. He chuckles and walks away.
The game finishes and everyone stares at each other in amazement.
"And as everyone is joined together we see that in the long game. Friends become family." Josh announces and sits down next to Maya.
"Maya." He speaks up. "You do understand that I'm too old for you?"
"I do Josh. I know that." She looks at him.
"Good." He mumbles.
"But I'm in it for the long game."she smirks.
