"Alizabeth. Get up, seriously."

I groaned, throwing my head back into the pillow. I wasn't ready for this move all the way to London from my loving home two hours away. One thing in particular, I despised; a new college. I was already half way through my freshman year when my parents decided I needed to move to London. Things back home had begun to go for the worse.

I swung my legs over the edge of my bed, making my way to my vanity. Applying my foundation, music blared out of the speakers of my phone. Once I had finished applying all my makeup, I brushed the knots out of the chocolate-caramel locks that fell below my breasts. I still haven't determined if I like having naturally straight hair. Digging through cardboard boxes, I found my first day of school outfit. A floral shirt, skinny jeans cuffed above my ankles, with my white converse. Very simple.

"You look very cute, honey." My Mom commented, as she placed a plate in front of me.

"I agree. Have a good day at university! We'll be leaving in a few day, don't forget." My Dad smiled, looking out from his eyeglasses. I nodded, quickly eating my breakfast. Stuffing my phone into my pocket, I grabbed my car keys and backpack.

"Why did you both come?" I wondered outloud.

"We needed a new start, too. We're empty-nesters. Besides, living near London was always a dream of our. We'll only be 30 minutes out of here." My mother smiled at me, finishing making her own breakfast.

In a way, I was excited for a place of my own. Hey, maybe I'd meet a guy. Well, honestly, I wouldn't want to at this moment. I'm still not over what happened months ago.

"Well, I should go. Can't miss the first day!" I plaster a fake smile, waving goodbye to my parents.

"Hi. I'm Beth Lane. I'm new." I spoke to the elderly woman, sitting at the front desk.

"Alizabeth? We can change it to Beth, if you prefer. Anyways, here's your schedule and a map of the school.  Welcome!" She gave me a warm smile, helping me to loosen up.

"Thank you." I grab the thin whit sheets, folding them in two.

I open them again after I exit, seeing I am to report to English for today. I still had mixed feelings about being here. Unlocking my phone, I was already 15 minutes late to my first lecture. I gripped the door handle, taking one last deep breath.
