Water dripped down the side of my face and drenched my clothes as I glared up at the group of giggling girls who had just poured the bucket of ice cold water on me. My uniform clung to my wet body, while my emerald green eyes glared up at the group of girls wearing the same uniform as I was. It consisted of a too short blue plaid skirt, white knee high socks that matched my white blouse, with a pair of black dress shoes, a black tie and finally the blue blazer to top it all off. “Maybe that’ll teach you to not mess in other peoples’ business, I mean you are an old woman you should be careful with what you do.” The group leader, Camille Walker, mocked at me as she placed her dainty hands upon her hips. She is what Americans called a pre-Madonna, to me—however she was just a snob. She fit all the qualifications for perfect looking girl, golden locks that cascaded down just below her perfect C-cup breasts, tanned skin that matched her light brown eyes, her lips full, plush and the perfect pink color, while her body curved in all the ways the boys wanted, with just a tad bit of too skinny tossed in there.
“I-It’s okay Phoenix, you should leave before you get in trouble…” I heard a little voice say behind me as I glanced down at the petite girl I was guarding. Lillian Thompson was her name and she was no more than fifteen years of age, she was a small girl for her age, but awfully cute, which probably caused these pre-Madonnas to dub her as their next target. With her small figure, long auburn hair, dark blue eyes and dimples on each cheek, there was no wonder why boys would always flock in her direction. She was one of the girls that attended the Orphanage I stayed at and she was new to this horrid private school.
I flashed her one of my don’t-you-worry smiles and then turned back towards the mob of snobs. Consisting of mostly bleach blonde girls that thought they were the best and better then everyone, I glanced around my surroundings to see a small group forming around us. I sighed, Sister Katherine had warned me not to get into any more fights this year or else I would be sent to the Girls School of Disciplinary and Reform in Wales. “How ‘bout this?” I started, trying not to lose my anger from the fact I was dripping wet and there never seemed to be Professors around when I or another student was being bullied. “We all just go our separate ways and that way no one gets sent to Principal Evans office?” I asked, trying my hardest to play the nice girl.
“Well that doesn’t sound the least bit of fun.” Camille replied with a sneer, “I didn’t hear anything about how that slut will have a black eye by the end of our conversation.”
I glared at Camille, “Lillian, will not be partaking in any roughhousing. So why don’t you back off Camille before I make you back off.” I barked back as Camille shrinked somewhat by my outburst, I swiftly turned my hair around; making sure my wet hair smacked her in the face as I did. “Come Lilly, we’re going to be late for sixth period.” I pushed Lillian a bit in front of me as I tried to move from the group of girls before I did something I was going to regret. We were almost out of the courtyard when Camille decided to open her big mouth.
“Fine, you should go, and go back to that Bloody Orphanage too. I mean they are the only place that’ll take you in, it’s not like you have a family to go to or anything, and it’s probably because of that unnatural hair.” Camille replied as I stopped slightly, Lillian looked up at me with fearful eyes.
“Come on Phoenix, don’t listen to her.” Lillian tried to reason with me.
