25. Plan B

This can't be happening, could this be a

dream. It happened so fast. I should have known

this was going to happen. I should have said no.

God! This is all my fault. My brother's dead and

this guy's gonna kill me too. I'm thinking this as I

stare at the Target through my scope. He starts by

looking to his left and right. Then as if he knew

right where I was. H started walking in my

direction. Slowly slipping his shades off. Staring

right at me with his red eyes through my scope.

At that moment I threw my sniper down

and started down the tree. About halfway down I

jumped. Landing wrong spraining my right ankle.

Which I've been very famous for doing ever since I

was a child. I began to run in the direction of the

where the Target's child was supposedly tied up.

Crossing over the bridge to the other half of the

park. I began to hear shotgun shots about 15 feet

behind me.

Luckily out of range. I ran even faster as

my hair and face got nicked and scratched by the

branches. Which I ignored as much as possible. I

ran until I could barely breathe, and then hid

behind a thick trunk until I caught my breath.

Before my foot could go into the clear a gun shot

went off; That nearly cut the tree next to me in

half. " I know your behind that tree. Next time I

won't miss," he said cocking the gun for the next

shot.

I then tried to reason with him. "listen I'm

sorry for putting you through all of this trouble.

I never meant t--!" " where's my little girl!" " we

never had her in the first place. We just used her

as bait to get you to come here." " you're lying!!" "

no I swear, this was all my brother's idea. You had

a 50 mil. Bounty on your head and we needed the

money. Your daughter was the only way to get you

out of hiding." " Who sent you. The Purple

Dragons. Tell me!" " some corporation! Umm,

they're called the SBA agency or something like

that. I swear that's all I know." " You know what I

believe you. Now come from behind the tree slowly

or I'll make you come out."

What choice did I have. It was either come

out and maybe get shot or get shot anyways. It was

more of a loose-loose situation. Maybe he'll spare

me thinking I still have his kid. With only seconds

to spare I remembered that I had a Desert Eagle in

the back of my pants. Something every sniper

carries around. I slowly came from behind the

tree. With my hands up and walked towards the

Target. Who had a I'm-gonna-kill-you-you-damn-bitch

look on his face. And his shotgun pointed directly

at my head

"so where's my---". Without giving him a

chance to finish his sentence. I dove to my right ,

pulling out and shooting my pistol at him.

Simultaneously he shot his shotgun that skimmed

my ribs. Then I shot him twice in each calf. Without

checking to see if he was mortally wounded by the

shots. I scurried off the snow covered ground and

ran in the opposite direction of the red-eyed man.

About five minutes after I ran I started to fell this

weird sensation across my ribs. Which is probably

because of the cold.

I looked down just to be safe and noticed

that my ribs were scarcely showing. But there

was no time to be worried about that cause the

giant red-eyed man was about 50 yards behind me.

Really hustling too. With no effect from the two

holes in each of his calves.

At that moment I got that weird feeling I

wasn't alone again. Except it was a good feeling.

Like the sun finally rising on a cold night. Or the

sign of spring coming. With the leaves falling off

and the squirrels scurrying around for nuts.

Stuff like that. Then my mind went back on the

current situation. The red-eyed man, right that

guy. If I'm going to die. I'm not going down without a

fight!!
