Silence, broken glass, blood. Two limp bodies hung upside down in our flipped car,
darkness. The car that had caused this had already drove off, unscathed.
"Sophie?" I whispered.
No answer. Covering my mouth I coughed, warm liquid dripped from my fingers, blood. Slamming on the buckle, it didn't budge.
"Sophie?" I said panicky
Silence, straining forward I shook Jonathan's shoulder.
"Jon?"
My Stomach twisted, this wasn't happening, I shook Sophie's shoulder Tears dripped from my face warm on my cold skin.
"You're not dead... Sophie! Jon? Your not dead! Wake up!"
I leaned back and tried my buckle again, nothing I yanked my seat belt vigorously, it didn't move. I placed a hand over my eyes, sobbing quietly. This was my fault, I had suggested we go to Vancouver for my 14th birthday, My fault we're in this situation! In the distance I heard sirens.
"Help! Help us please help!" I screamed.I bolted awake, rubbing my eyes. I haven't dreamt about The accident for such a long time remembering what happened on the roof, I looked around the hotel designed room, empty. swinging my legs over the side of the bed I sighed. across the room was a black jumpsuit placed on a desk with the letters S.A.I written in white on the left shoulder and the number 7 printed neatly on the other shoulder. A bathroom sat in the corner of the room. after close inspection to my relief there was no cameras, but there were three in the main room I was in. Grabbing the suit, I shut the door to the bathroom and turned the lock. I pulled the suit on half way, then ripped holes in the back of the blue t- shirt they gave me I slipped it over my head and slid my wings through the holes, staring in the mirror I spread my wings examining the colours, white with a splash of gold and speckles of silver, 'I guess since they didn't have holes already cut in my shirt, they don't know what I can really do they just didn't know what to expect so the covered every exit... Do they know who I am? What I really am? Something I cant seem to figure out myself. I folded my wings tightly against my back pulling my suit all the way up I put my arms through the sleeves, luckily the suit was baggy hiding my wings perfectly. I sigh and walk to the bed, sitting down I fold up my knees wrapping my arms around them. The door clicks, an unfamiliar boy taller than me, muscular, scruffy brown hair with a disgusted expression plastered on his face stands in the doorway along with Mr. Scott I scowl at them.
Mr. Scott looks at me and sighs he extends his hand out the door.
"You can run, though I doubt you'll get far"
I eye him and slowly get up.
The boy turns furiously to
Mr. Scott
"Jean! What the hell are you doing?!? Don't- " He is cut short.
I push past the gaping boy Running down the white hall I take a right, my bare feet slapping against the cold tile floor and echoing off the walls. Taking a left I come to a large hole in the building, nothing but mountains and trees for miles, my wings tighten against my back, leaning over I look down, the building is floating! Crisp wind blows softly through my hair, I hear foot steps storming down the hall, my heart accelerates, I back up, but as I do Jean turns the corner, looking right, then left his brows raise when he sees me.
"Please, listen! All we want is to study you! No experiments, Nothing to hurt you... We are wondering what your bloodline is, can you help us with that?"He says franticly.
I glance out the gap and sigh.
"I don't know who my parents are and I do not have any connection to any real past family members... But I think your wasting your time" I turn looking Jean in the eyes."They're most likely gone now" I look away, my face contorting into anger, I wouldn't care if they were alive anyway.
"I'm going to kill her!" I hear Michael's angry voice echo far down the hall. Turning my head to the sound I smile to myself.
"Calm down mike!" A male voice whispers.
"I will not calm down!" Michael growls.
Mike comes to the corner turning his head both ways, his eyes land on me, he scowls, stomping towards me, I stick out my tongue. Another boy emerges from the corner.
"You Little, URAH!" Mike clenched his fists and ground his teeth. Jean held out his arm
"Stop." He mumbles.
Mike glares at me, scowling. Slowly mike backs away, shaking his head.
"you're gonna regret this" he pointed a shaky finger at me. turning he stomped back the way he came, the mystery boy at his heels. Jean's head followed him until he disappeared around the corner, he then looked at me and smiled.
"I think I owe you an apology!" Jean looked down smile fading, he scratched his beard
"How about I arrange for a better room" He glanced at me, a mysterious excitement gleamed in his eyes.
