Dearest You,
I won't name names, but you know who you are. You're the one who took my hand in the dark and told me it was all gonna be okay. You encouraged and pushed me - even when I failed so miserably at the things I tried my best at. You held me when I cried, dried my tears, and even told me I was beautiful afterwards. What a wonderful human being you are.
For a girl like me, you were my saving grace. I didn't have a lot of friends growing up, I was picked on a lot, and I was always a little too self-conscious or shy to talk to others... but there you were. You were like a knight in shining armor, saving me from boredom and from the ordinary.
Thank you for being your wonderful, strange, happy self. Thank you for loving me when I've been difficult and putting me in my place during those tedious times.
Most importantly, thank you for being my best friend.
