★Ayako★

I remember when he first joined the guild. He arrived with his head hanging down, his clothes and bag soaked through with rain but his face wet with tears.

"Is mm..m..mu...Erza here?" he mumbled, clearly on the verge of tears.

"I think so, I'll go get her!" I responded, before hearing "No, Ayako, you can't be trusted for anything. I'll get her instead." I didn't hear who spoke, but I was beyond caring. I may be the daughter of a highly studious and sensible wizard, but all they see is the child of a dragon slayer, a destructive warrior.

"Thank you," he responded and looked up. His red hair fell across his right eye, leaving the dark mark across his left eye clearly visible. The two matched in a funny way... A cute way. He reminded me exactly of Erza, and it occurred to me why he was here- he was her son.

I had heard a bit about Erza's family life before. She and her husband had known each other since she was very young, but he was 'possessed' for several years. Until, like the knight in shining armour she is, she and her friends came to rescue him. But he couldn't cope with the guilt of what he he had done under control, so he went away to start a crime-fighting guild. The two are still together, they just live apart. Erza and her friends call themselves Team Natsu, and they have been the strongest team in the guild for a while now.

It hit me then that the boy I was looking at was one of the most important people of the guild, from now on. He is the son of two Guild Masters, destined to be strong and powerful.

I wanted to get to know this boy. I wanted to be his friend. I wanted him to mean so much to me, and me to mean so much to him. But when I saw him crying in the corner, with the Guild Master at his side and what seemed like the whole guild also offering support whilst I was being kept away for 'being too destructive', I knew that fantasy could never become a reality. I was just the reckless kid who was good for nothing.
