Minerva's POV
Silence hung in the air, a reminder of our positions, as I stared at Lucy. She looked calm, her brown eyes bright with something. Jackal was nervous, his left leg jumping up and down, as we sat around the small wooden table.
"How are you doing Minerva?" She asked, her lips curling into a gentle grin. I searched the room with my mind, for a lacrima or people near. Oddly we were by ourselves, Mard Geer trusted us to get the information.
Even with my recent acts of disobedience. The fool.
"I'm doing fine, though I miss Sabertooth." I told her as Jackal watched us, his eyes locked on Lucy's face. He studies her face for a bit before speaking.
"You were with that pink haired bastard, when I had to destroy my last body." He said, and she nodded her head. Her smile saddened.
"His name is Natsu." Lucy clarified, her left hand playing with a dragon bracelet on her right wrist. Jackal chuckled, his grin growing.
"Is that from Natsu?" He questioned, pointing to the little bracelet. It was a dragon that wrapped around her wrist, it was made of gold, with red gemstones. I could sense some kind of charm on it, it's energy warm and light.
"Yes, he got it for me on the anniversary that we met. He said he had asked a friend to have charmed to keep me safe." She muttered, staring at it. Her mind seeming to go to some other memory, her smile hinting at it.
"When I was young, my father made me research all forms of Magical creatures. Dragons being my favorite, I found all I could on the topic. Dragon-Slayers have many of the instincts as Dragons, one being to find a mate to keep forever. Though with dragons, they can tell who it is, Dragon-Slayers can not. They must feel out the relationship, before deciding who they want to Mate for life. And they usually like to leave a mark on their choice to ward off others. With Dragon-Slayers, it's usually a piece of jewelry, or if further on in the relationship. A bite mark." I told her, watching with a smirk as she began to blush.
"I've been hearing about this thing called shipping. It was something I heard while following one of your Mages on a quest. She mentioned a couple by the name of Natsu and Lucy, called Nalu. Saying something like, they'll become canon one day, I swear it!" Jackal mentioned, his face the very definition of perplexed, his blue eyes looking less confused.
"I thought you were gonna ask questions about my guild." Lucy proclaimed, hiding her blushing face behind her hands.
"Where are the guilds? We have reason to believe they have left their guilds, thus Fiore completely unprotected." Jackal said, his face going from puzzled to placid.
"I don't know. They were there when I last saw them." She mumbled from behind her hands. She put her hands back on the table, her smile fading into nothing.
"Do you know of Lumen Historie?" Jackal asked, his eyes gazing into hers. She shrugged, keeping an even gaze.
"I don't."
"Do you know the location of Laxus Dreyar or his Thunder God tribe?" I questioned, and she switched her gaze to me. She studied me, then shook her head.
"I haven't seen him since the Grand Magic Games." She replied, her voice at ease. I thought over her behavior and responses, dubbing them the truth. When I looked back into her eyes, they were brimming with tears. "Can I see my keys? You know I can't use them, when I'm bound to this place. The chains around my ankles, drain magic."
She was right. I could feel her lack in magic, and her dark sadness.
"If you help us do this one thing." Jackal answered before I could muster a word. He pulled Lucy's keys from his pocket, and held them up. "Find the pink haired bastard."
