Lucy POV
It's getting late and I'm tired and hungry, hope I can complete this mission soon so that I can have a nice long bath. Moonlight shining through the woods, animals sounds was heard in the woods and an unknown sound of rustling in the bushes, I find myself hiding on top of a branch in a tree, waiting for the the right person to step on my trap.
I waited and waited for the person who will fall for my trap but was nowhere to be seen. It couldn't be right? My calculations are correct and judging the information I had, he should be already here 10 minutes ago!
Then a huge explosion coming not far from where I was waiting. "What the..." I look at the place that had been exploded for a while and look back at my trap. I can't decide weather I should check it out or continue to wait. "Well since he's not coming and fall for my trap, I should check it out, why not?" I said to myself and leap from branches to branches.
Leaping to my destination, I stand to a nearby branch on top of a high tree to make my vision clearer. I saw that a naked boy which I presume that he is a ice make magic judging by the way he uses it to fight and a boy with a scarf around his neck using some fire magic which is very strong, I could even feel the heat from here. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a red scarlet hair fighting....Wait. Isn't that my target? No wonder he's not coming. I wasted on my time when I can be home reading books. I sigh but was soon holding back my breath when my eyes naturally went back to the re-equip Mage. Everything about her makes me want to kis- wait what am I thinking.
Maybe I took too long chec-wait I meant looking at her. "Yeah right" my inner thought said.
"Shut up. Stupid brain" I told my inner thought.
Back to where I was saying, the group of mages notice me and was wryly coming over. They look more like sneaking over here. "Hey! Who's there! Come out here to fight me!" The pink hair said while smashing his fist together, fire came out from his hands.
"Shut up flame brain! You cause the enemy to run!" The one without the clothes said.
"Well since our cover is blown, let's do it the other way. You there come out here if you don't want to be hunted!" The scarlet hair said while re-equipping her armor, her gaze was fierce.
I was thinking my options. I could just run or fight. I'm pretty confident in my running skills as well as my fighting skills but for some reason my feet won't move. It was like somebody casted a spell on me and rooted me in place and that somebody was the scarlet hair. Her gaze was fierce but that was only the exterior of it. Her interior was kind, honest, brave, smart but there is a little part that shows loneliness and fear. I could see it all, inside and outside of it. I was so interested in her like I want to get to know her even though I didn't know her name, that was the first time I felt like that. Not even my ex-girlfriends.
I sigh and drop down from the branch and put both of my hands up as if I was surrendering. "I'm not with them, those are also my target and who are you guys anyway?" I said looking straight at them. They gave each other a look and introduce themselves.
"I'm Erza, we're from Fairy tail. Who are you" she said
"I'm Lucy. I'm just a rogue and kill people when hired by my clients" I said not taking my eyes of her.
"Rogue? Why? Why don't you join a guild" Erza said ignoring her behind where those boys bickering with each other.
"A guild? Don't make me laugh, I hate guilds, I hate each one of them" I said not holding my hatred for guilds. My past have been bad, terrible and I don't want to talk about it.
Ezra's face show me no pity but understand and worry. "Join our guild" she suddenly said.
"Wha-" I was cut of by her.
"Give it a try, I promised you that our guild won't be like the ones you been"
"Don't make a promise you can't keep. I've seen this tactic before and it won't happen again" I said firmly, ready to leave.
"Please don't go! I guaranteed that you will love it, please just give it a chance" she pleaded.
Why is she doing this? Why is she treating me so well when we just met? I don't understand, I don't understand at all! But looking at her, it makes me want to give in, give in to her wish. I batter with myself. I think I was thinking too long that Erza called me out.
"Hey sorry if I sound forceful and I know we just met but I just had...this feeling like I want to know you better, I feel like we have more potential on being friends, even best friends and I don't want to waste this chance" she keep on rumbling. I sigh because all my resolve to stay away was extinguish. Maybe I could change.... for her. I step forward and gave my answer.
"Fine, I'll give it a try but don't expect me to trust you all so easily" I said and stick out my left hand out.
She smiled and step forward using her right hand to touch mine and formerly introduce ourself again. She went to and give a death glare who I recalled was Natsu and Gray who is calling each other names. I inwardly chuckled at their silliness.
On our way back to the guild, me, Natsu and Gray was walking front while Erza was at the back of us.
"I think I started to developed feelings, Lucy. Feelings that I never felt before. I think I like you Lucy" Erza muttered very softly.
"Did you say something, Erza?" I said.
"No, nothing" she said. I stared at her disbelieve but decided not to question her.
"Oh, ok then. But please don't hesitate to ask me anything" I said
"Even we just met" I added. She smiled and nodded.
Little did I know that this sentence she said will change my life.
