I laid there in my bed, it was far past midnight but sleep did not want to come. My mind was everywhere else then sleep. After I had said goodbye to Jace I had gone inside and ran to my mom where I spilled just about everything and told her how I would be going on a night time ride with him. She was happy for me. Being a legal adult, now the age of eighteen I did not have a curfew anymore. So I did not have to worry about what time I would get home.

I rolled onto my side thinking about my conversation with my mom. A small smile crept on my face. Suddenly there was a vibration and a loud 'bing'. I jumped up, my heart feeling as though it skipped a beat. Breathing slightly harder than before I yanked my phone out from under my pillow angrily.

"What?" I whispered loudly to the device, mad at it for scaring me so. I saw that it was Zophie texting me... And she wasn't happy. I went into messages and read her texts to me.

Zophie: RAIN MCCORMIC!!! HOW DARE YOU!? HOW DARE YOU NOT TELL YOUR BEST FRIEND YOU WERE GOING ON A DATE WITH JACE FREAKING LANBERG!? WHY DID I HAVE TO FIND OUT FROM MY BOYFRIEND WHO FOUND OUT FROM JACE!!?? IM VERY DISSAPOINTED IN YOU!!!

I sighed. How could I have forgotten to tell my best friend? A pang of guilt punched me in the stomach as I quickly texted a reply.

Rain: I know! I'm so sorry! I don't know how I overlooked it! I'm so sorry Zophie!!!

Zophie: It's okay... I already yelled at you anyway... Sooooo with that out of the way. RAIN IM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!

I laughed softly, giving a chuckle through my nose as I sat in the dark room. I laid back down on my back and held my phone above my face. I wrote my response.

Rain: Thanks Zophie =)

Zophie: Alright, enough! Details, spill, now!

I then proceeded to tell her the whole story, starting from when we left the theater and our ride home. How he made me laugh and was polite. I told her about how he asked me for our ride tomorrow night. I smiled just remembering it, I smiled just thinking about him. She asked me if I liked him and I told her the truth.

After our late night conversation was over it was almost 2am. With a few goodnights and her making me promise to tell her everything on Saturday morning. I turned my phone on vibrate to not scare me to death and put It back under my pillow. Before I knew it I was asleep within minutes.

The next day was slow but productive. I worked on picture editing, thanks to Zophie working on a lot of photography lately, in the morning. Then did some sketching during the afternoon. The hours ticked by slowly as I waited for 7o'clock to come. When 6o'clock rolled around I decided to get ready. I had showered that morning, so I was already all clean. I then straightened my thick wavy hair to its silky, straight form. I did makeup, a little darker than usual but not too much. After I finished with hair and makeup I changed into a casual but nice outfit. This outfit consisted of blue skinny jeans, a white and black baseball t-shirt and matching Hightop sneakers. I smiled at my outfit and got my purse, packing my phone and wallet inside.

I saw that it was 6:53 and walked into the kitchen where I had a conversation with my mom. She reminded me not to drink or do anything stupid, which we both knew I wouldn't. I had never drank or done drugs – even when people from school tried to pressure me into it. She reminded me that I did not fully know this boy and not to do anything dumb just because I like him.

When I heard the motorcycle pull up to my driveway I smiled slightly. I said an 'I love you' to my mom which she returned and I left. I smiled bigger as I saw the brown haired boy who was leaning against his bike, helmet in hand. He was wearing dark jeans and a gray shirt under his leather biker jacket.
