Six - Halloween

About the song: I picked this one because of a hilarious little "extra" scene at the end of this chapter involving Flowey and Asriel and their mind link. And yes, they have a mind link. The only reason this song was chosen is because it's ASRIEL as it got when it came to not relating to this chapter at all.

"Whoa, Frisk! That's a pretty... uh... nice costume."

"What store did you buy it at? I've never seen anything like it before."

"I wish I had a costume like that! I think."

"Hey, Short Stuff. Nice costume." Chara said as Frisk sat down at their desk.

It was indeed a nice costume. Instead of the usual store-bought princess or homemade toilet paper mummy, Frisk wore long black gloves that covered their arms and yellow boots with somewhat lifelike claws. Wearing a maize and brown striped sweater, along with yellow leggings, Frisk completed the look with an adorable pink bow.

"Thanks. But... what are you going to be when you go trick-or-treating?" Frisk asked, as Chara was dressed in her usual attire.

"I'm not going trick-or-treating. My parents can't take me this year." Chara said, sounding defeated.

"Oh." Frisk said, a small idea forming in their mind. But before they could propose what they had in mind, Ms. Wormington entered the room, all dressed up for Halloween.

Now that everyone was ready, the real fun began. First came the games. Simple as they were, Frisk did have trouble with a few of them.

Next came the contest. Everyone went up front to flaunt their attire, then they all voted on which costume they thought was best.

And yes, it was more than just a matter of personal opinion. In the end, Frisk won second place, not only for their "creativity" and the effective yet simple choice of clothing, but also because Sora, a sweet young girl with a sunny personality, won first place.

Next up was recess. With costumes. After Chara described what she called "a frightfully random yet oddly satisfying experience" to Frisk, they felt ready for anything.

Okay, so maybe not anything, but at least they weren't surprised when they saw one of the students dressed as a shark swallowing a person.

"Hey, Short Stuff. You okay?" Chara asked. Frisk nodded voicing their idea to Chara.

"Ya'know, just because your parents refuse to take you trick-or-treating doesn't mean that we can't go together." Frisk said.

Chara blushed, but then it was gone. "But... I don't have a costume. Besides,  what if your mom doesn't want me coming along?"

"Mettaton can help with a costume, and my mom would be delighted to have you along. Not only that, but Asriel and MK are coming along, too, and they'd be really happy to finally get to meet you." Frisk pointed out.

"Alright. I guess it wouldn't hurt." Chara said.

Later That Evening...

"And this is where I live." Frisk said, proudly showing off the mansion.

Chara gaped, unsure how to respond to such a flabbergasting surprise. "You live here?!"

"Yep!" Frisk said, blissfully unaware of Chara's obvious flabbergastedly amazed surprise.

Frisk casually opened the door as Chara just stared. "C'mon! They don't bite!" They said, grabbing Chara's hand and rushing inside.

"Oh, darling, you look simply divine in that superhero costume!" Mettaton said from the other room as he helped Chara get ready for trick-or-treating.

For some reason, Chara and Mettaton got along really well. Mettaton didn't treat Chara like a child, but instead treated her like a really good friend. And Chara seemed to regard Mettaton as a friend, too.

Asriel entered the room, wearing a black robe, rainbow wings, and carrying a small bucket with Flowey inside. Behind him was Monster Kid, who was dressed as a cyborg.

Frisk giggled, looking at Asriel. "What are you supposed to be?"

Asriel puffed up his chest, and attempted to speak in what he thought was a scary voice, but it came out sounding like a cross between a high pitched howl and a squeak. "I'M THE ALL-POWERFUL GOD OF HYPERDEATH! RAWR!"

Frisk giggled at Asriel's adorable ferocity as Chara, decorated pillowcase in hand, entered the room.

Asriel looked at Chara, and saw something completely different from reality, causing him to blush and stutter when Frisk introduced them.

Chara eyed Asriel's costume, staring it up and down. "Cool."

"Y-you really think so?" Asriel squeaked as the adorable stutter made a comeback. From inside the bucket, inaudible gripes about "the stupidity of love at first sight" and "neither of you are old enough for *bleep*, so stop thinking about it" sounded off, but fortunately, Chara didn't hear any of it.

Now that everyone was ready and all dirty thoughts were bleached out, Toriel, dressed in her usual Halloween attire, begun to lead the group out the door for the fun part. The other groups of children were attended by other adult monsters to avoid looking like a hoard or invasion.

-7:45 PM-

So far, nothing had gone wrong, as usual. Every house the group visited resulted in more candy, and every adult who handed out those tasty treats always cooed over how Frisk and Chara subconsciously held hands.

Since it was nearing the end of the night, Toriel led everyone back to the mansion. After retuning to the mansion, Sans asked Chara where she lived. Chara, who was so tired she didn't realize Sans was a skeleton, yawningly gave her address, so Sans teleported her there.

-Later-

"MOM! FLOWEY'S EATING ALL THE CANDY!"

 "I AM NOT!"

"THEN STOP THINKING ABOUT HOW YUMMY THE CHOCOLATE IS!"

"JUST BECAUSE I'M THINKING ABOUT IT DOESN'T MEAN I'M DOING IT!"

"THEN WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO CLEAN THE CHOCOLATE OFF YOUR FACE?"

"YOU'RE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR! WHAT PROOF DO YOU HAVE?"

 "YOU'RE THINKING IT!"

 "TATTLETALE!"

 "PETAL BOY!"

 "DUMMY HEAD!"

 "SEED BRAINS!'

 "GARBAGE MUNCHER!"

 "DIRT HUGGER!"

 Ah, sibling rivalry.

Oh, and today (in my timezone at the very least), it's September 11th, the fifteenth anniversary of the 9'11" Terrorist attack on the U.S.
